how to uninstall OneNote

It's an issue for me because I just want to print a word doc and it keeps trying to print to OneNote, not my printer.  I don't have to time or the inclination to mess with it; just want to print.  Unfortunately, going to Control Panel to uninstall it doesn't either.  When I find Office, then click Change, my only options are Quick Repair and Online Repair, no install.  Don't want to have to put everything in Dropbox, go to my Apple laptop to print everything.  I just rid of this!

Hi Bernd,      You may have to take the time to follow through to establish your Default printer, I have eight PCs in a network that uses my new HP Deskjet 1000 J1110 printer... You may have to disconnect yours from the USB Port  or turn it off and reinstall your printer's set of drivers all over again because you may not have full recognition of your printer. IN MY CASE, I had to uninstall my old drivers for the HP Photosmart C3180 Printer Scanner, and in your case have to wait until the installing software tells you WHEN to connect your printer back up so it can recognize it properly. It is a snap once you do want to share your printer as in my case, the HP Deskjet 1000 printer just prints as a single function printer. It is connected to my Seagate GoFlex Home server and once I install it properly as a local printer, the server can grab its drivers from the first PC you used to install the drivers. And the rest or the other seven will do the same but I let the GoFlex server do it from there because it has its own software to Faxes and Printers.   To officially set any printer as a default., is right clicking the properties of that printer and the drop down menu will have a selection to set it as a default printer:     GO to the MENU and left click CONTROL Panel. AND set a shortcut to the desktop so you can access it quickly and include it in "MY Computer" I use it constantly when I need to turn on any PC to unscramble my drive letters as to which drives should be assigned to! I have them numbered in which order they have as drive letter as part of their label such as "HD01 64 GB" is drive letter C. Drive letter D would be "HD02 ### GB" as the number  symbols is the reported properties of the drive's capacity I.E. 250 GB. As having further identification, It goes beyond that for me. I have at least six PCs having all 26 drive letters and then some more mounted, and I have a strict sequential order to it all, and so does Windows XP and 7. If it is out of sequence, you lose access to the shortcuts looking for a non-existent file or folder on drive letter Z as it shows up as Y.         Next, look for Faxes and Printers in the Control Panel, and left click on that. YOUR printer should show up if you have installed its drivers properly. IF it does not, you have to press "Add a NEW Printer" Once you see it, right click its properties and select it as the default printer. Also print its test page, that tells you have successfully have it connected and set up and you can read where its drivers are. YOU have to select a USB virtual printer port 002 if it is a USB port. Some older printers use COM1 as a serial port and that is the nine-pin blue connector in the back of the PC. You then need a 9-pin to RS232  25-pin to match the printer's serial port. If your printer uses LPT1 it is the maroon 25-pin parallel port and if it has the Centronics connector, you need its corresponding cable. IF you don't have the time to do this yourself as I do, you pay through the nose to have it done for you. It is your time or your hard earned money, you make that choice! I assume you are using Windows XP, Windows 7 puts the Control Panel directly onto the desktop and a TAB to select it in MY PC! Edmond The Software and Hardware engineer!

You seem to be the type of person who expects everyone to like what you like, when they often don't. The instructions you give to remove OneNote from Office 7, or 10, do not work for the 2013 version of Office Home and Student 2013. When you go to Control Panel, Programs and Features, highlight Office 2013 (no individuals listed), click on Change, you do NOT get a menu asking if you want to 'Repair or remove individual programs', but are given a choice of two useless options. 1. To REPAIR the version of Word automatically, letting Microsoft decide what they think is best, and 2. To do the same REPAIR work via the web. There is no mention whatsoever of being ALLOWED to remove this an unwanted, unasked for annoyance. It's like Microsoft are DETERMINED that everyone gets OneNote and KEEPS it.

It's the intrusion and interferance that makes me angry. The way Microsoft try to force their preferences and opinions onto their customers, many of whom have remained loyal over many years. I feel like bending the installation disk in half and returning it to Microsoft (it cost me $129!) and re-installing my old version of Word, which I was happy with. I stupidly thought getting the latest version would be an improvement. The trouble is, knowing Microsoft as I now do, they will probably think of a way of stopping older versions of Word from ever working again!

Thanks for nothing Microsoft - you've given a lot of people unwanted, unasked for headaches.
