how to uninstall OneNote

Maybe you like what Microsoft throws at you as you call it as a program, and use it, as I do have the right to call it as I see it. AS any program that spreads its empty files everywhere as that eats up valuable drive space not only on drive letter C, but also on every partition from A to Z and beyond inside of every folder, has NO business in doing so; is quote: "called a Virius" end quote! AS in the cluster size of 4 KB per file, (4096 bytes), it will also slows your access time down in accessing what you do critically want right away instead waiting for a minute or so, and THEN you wonder WHY your PC is running so slow... in the same way when you label any folder as to music, pictures or video content, Windows waits to classify the entire folder as that type of content when you want last week sales report your boss asked you to get yesterday. AH-HA to you if you do! In MY BOOK, I cannot waste time or valuable drive space just by having one HDD in any laptop, (notebook) or desktop PC or just having one backup as a plan even when Windows is prone to crash periodically. ONE PC with one Hard Disk Drive IS really asking for it by "Pacing all of your eggs (data files and folders) in one Partition as a basket"! Also you need more than ONE PC as to help recover it, as not on the same PC you always working with, Also to ME, eight PCs is not even enough with 180 Partitions plus, because as a user your data is just as important as you are. PCs, hardware and the software come and go like Microsoft is now NOT supporting Windows XP, leaves a lot of you up a creek without a paddle with inferior updates with Windows 8 that cannot do what Windows XP and 7 can do or have, is to me a poor thought in keeping up to date and instead of adding it to each other as MORE, because I look at it as a programmer’s point of view and a troubleshooter. That means I do my own tech work, in which case I have more than the "Book Learning” to do it as! I have forty-six years in electronics also to help me as also to rebuild ANY PC from what now come out from the factory as a ”Bare Bones” PC to a real PC I can really use. To me a PC is a learning tool, not to play games or do office work with but to figure thing out what DOES WORK what software and what Hardware works together as one big giant in-house network! What you do as ONE, I do fifty-two times more. And I get it all done quickly as you do ONE!

By the way, As even Windows 8 has it. A lot of it is on purposely missing, hence, I call it a ”DUD”! Maybe if Microsoft merged all versions of Windows from ’98, 2000. XP, Vista, and 7; they would have a better version than I have and then call it Windows 8. until then, avoire! (Good BYE in French)!

You uninstall it the same way you do any other part of Office. Go to Control Panel --> Programs, select Office, click the change link. Then go through the change screens and tell it to remove OneNote.

What don't you like about it? I have demo-ed and provided training on it since O2003. You are honestly one of the very few I have ever heard of who tried it and disliked it....

Absolutely invasive.  Besides that, it just walks into your life with an introduction.  Shoot it.

It is up to the user to decide to update or not, ("To BE or Not To BE that is the question?... Hamlet") as also to use or not to use all what is given, as in MS Office 2007 student or later, as I have. I choose NOT to use it altogether. If I need to use it, it leaves out the "Outlook" part to have your part in an email address as its contents are on your PC safe from being on line, and Microsoft wants you to go on line to use their web page to do it. SO, if you use any use any part of MS Office Student 20xx’s also to use or not to use all what is given, as in MS Office 2007 student or later, as I have. I choose NOT to use it altogether. If I need to use it, it leaves out the "Outlook" part to have your part in an email address as its contents are on your PC safe from being on line, and Microsoft wants you to go on line to use their webpage to do it. SO, if you use any use any part of MS Office Student 20xx, is at your own risk! YOU do have the right of refusal to say "NO" to anyone and that is your choice in accepting or not accepting the very poor rendition of MS OFFICE 2000 Professional. as MS Office Student 200xx is last rated at one trillionth below zero! I need three or so means to get my email as checks and balances. If one works, the other does. Then eventually I get them all working.

In an related issue, ONENOTE leaves a cookie crumb trail a empty file at a tune of 4096 bytes in every folder on every partition for naught, hence it makes your PC run slower the more you use OneNote. AS hence, it is a virus and it should be eliminated for good. It is like a slow leak in your dinghy and eventually it will sink, (Crash the PC). It may seem foolish to a lot of you users to use the older versions of the software, Like MS OFFICE 2000 Pro, as it was given to me FREE, and I do know how to adapt it to work with Windows Vista and '7 and that IS my expertise. When I need to install it, I do not need to type in the stupid 25-digit CD Key every time from the keyboard or go on line to register it, I copy and paste the CD key in sections to it from a stored text file. and I do not NEED the actual CD either to install it, I can run it off any HDD, where I have it stored. I am thrilled that I am not the only one who absolutely hates OneNote.

     By the way, I had to reinstall Windows XP Pro back in one of my PCs and it worked without activating it, because I got Windows XP Pro DVD from its sister PC and both work with the same CD KEY! Reason being I had to get a clean install of Windows XP, was a lot of software that was also installed was interfering with Windows also cluttering up drive Letter C on a lowly 64 GB SSD (Solid State Drive). It crashed because it was overheating, so I took out the SSD for a Seagate 80 GB SATA II hard disk drive. I thought it was the power supply, but it wasn't. I also found the drivers stored as a compressed file as to the video, sound, and network communications and the Intel chipset and made my own CD of them. I did not need to go that far and instead I also restored them all from where I had them off the HDD! What I had to do was get the updates and I already had the IE8 installer program. I was ready for it, and it went well. 

     What good is the software when the hardware wont work properly? Something a lot of you users tend to forget. The hardware goes out of date but not the software I have. IT never changes! A lot of hardware needs the right drivers to work... but if the PCIe card blows a gasket (electronic component), I took out the PCIe  card, (hardware) for a new one that works better. I change it by the hour if need be as to swap external HDDs and not Flash drives or media cards, as my updates, because I never know when the PC blows its hardware like the 566i e Machines I had. My brother had it for six years then he gave it to me and it lasted six more until it blew out the secondary IDE channel chip! 

     I never know what is new still works with the old UNTIL I try it! THAT is why my version of Windows XP Pro and 7 is better than Microsoft's and everyone else's. That is because Microsoft purposely deletes out the good for what is idiocy NEW that wont work properly! And Windows 8 is a sham just like OneNote! A former friend of mine asked me eight years ago: “Why are you working on your old Computers?” My reply:

“Because I got it for free and it is a challenge, as I already have the new PC and there is NO challenge for me because it is already working!”
