how to uninstall OneNote

I am trying to uninstall One Note from my new laptop which is running Windows 10, it is irritating as it keeps appearing in my task bar for no reason. I never use it.

I thought that I had posted this, but I could be wrong. I am running windows 8.1.

I don't have Office so this makes removing impossible according to some posts. My solution is for people who are going to do a clean install for any reason. If you want to get rid of OneNote, this method works.

During a fresh install of windows there is a page that asks if you want OneNote. In very small print there is a place to say no. It is marked "not recommended". I checked that anyway. I continued to do the install. It seems that saying NO changes things. Now OneNote appears in the control panel and can be removed.

Nothing to do with Office. Very simple. I have used windows for days without OneNote returning.

I got MS Office 2007 Student as a trial program when I bought my first Windows Vista PC in 2007, as a new program. I tried it. then bought the CD a month later for $200. I found a lot of it was missing from it from MS Office 2000 Professional. At that time I was having serious issues with Windows Vista itself. And neither are an issue at all now except what is new is NOT always BETTER but lesser of a program with MS Office 2007 Student. It is not HOW to uninstall One Note itself, but what it was doing to my PC! It was putting a blank file inside of every folder on every partition from A to Z and beyond, maybe as a marker as for the catalog for One Note at a tune of 4096 bytes all for what? And such file being blank to me is a virus serving no purpose at all otherwise. Hence, in trying to use the hard disk tends to delay retrieval of the important data and consumes a lot of valuable disk space is a concern to me. I could not delete these useless files until I deleted the program itself. If anyone likes One Note, is only a fool to do so. Hence, in making any notes, "Notepad.exe" is perfect for that job. It does not leave a trace where you have been. Besides as me being in a minority, I have MS OFFICE 2000 Professional and I have it working with Windows 7, 32-bit and 64-bit versions, so I do not need MS Office 20xx Student even though I have the CD on file?

Besides I do not surf the NET and USE Windows XP anymore doing it, I also do not need Microsoft asking me for any updates for Windows XP, I just turn it OFF!!! I know enough now as to run Windows that there is no safe way that I can use the Internet without also telling everyone I am visiting their website leaving its "Cookie" crumb trail as to get Spam in my email after I visit the web page or malicious malware etc. because  I got hacked by it in the past. Microsoft denied support of Windows XP in favor of Windows 8 and 10 is also a lesser of a program of Windows 7 and XP, leaving out what was in both just to make money... IS NOT the way I do things with my PCs. Even with Microsoft Security Essentials, it does not catch everything unless it gets its updates and at least scan the entire drive letter C, is no quick thing to do. It takes several hours to do. As to WHY I have more than one PC like the majority of you users have just one drive PC thinking that you know it all and diddle with it on the Internet. I really do not give a DAMM! Preserving my PCs is MY way where I have the absolute total control of, and use it my way! I do not like to share anything with anyone, because I do not trust them  as to what they do with it. Also  I do not run any notebook PC just the way the factory has designed it as ONE drive or partition, because Windows itself is not self-preserving and prone to crashing more often than not... THAT should be HARD Wired in the PC and it should be confined just to that Only the data the USER NEEDS is stored onto the hard drives. There is a lot going on in Windows that is hidden for a reason, but each user has his or her way in doing things as to make it more pleasing to use, such as customizations they want and need to navigate quickly from one folder to the next, or from one partition to the next. In my case, I like the way Windows XP displays it and some of that is missing from Windows Vista and later. Since I can speed-read at 1000 words a minute, it is a lot faster with pictures as guide posts along the way as to get where I need to go! Having a lot of blank manila system folders I cannot customize with an icon only hinders me as to where it is and what it is for. Two big issues I wish Microsoft built into Windows is still in the “AMOBEBA” age and its FIXED windows that cannot be resized at all, and the “Clipboard” as how it is to be used. It is has been there since Windows 3.0 was created!

As to WHAT I do. I do a lot of CUT, COPY and PASTE one item amongst several folders, files and partitions. AS Windows has it, ‘Many to ONE’ at a time per one COPY procedure! And then I have to repeat it as many times afterwards to each file or partition in turn... So WHY NOT set it up as to copy IN SEQUENCE as to WHERE beforehand and have it loop as in BASIC as to when to stop? And have the conditional branching as to select or skip the folder or partitions in the meantime? The Microsoft Wireless Keyboard 2000 V.2 does that “STRAIGHT LINE” without any conditional branching! As to program what to do, such as to rename files in a sequence, or edit a filename. So far, only one item at a time is ‘Amoeba Thinking’, that NEEDS to be changed!!!
