how to uninstall OneNote

If One Note 2007, is giving you this much trouble, it is a bad program! To me, it is a virus and everyone who want to use it is REALLY ASKING FOR IT! Let the PDF files open with ADOBE Reader  8 through 11 ONLY. Do not try to associate the PDF files to any other type of program, except MS OFFICE's Word!  Windows Vista and 7 have no issues with MS OFFICE 2007 except Onenote spreads its 'tableofcontents.toc' everywhere and that is THE virus... I would selectively UNSTALL it or not to install it at all in the first place. Your life would be a lot easier if you can just use Word and Excel from MS OFFICE 2007 and 2010. In my case, I use MS office 2000 Pro, if you can get its CD. It is ten times better!!! With some effort as I have, you can make MS Office 2000 Pro work with Windows Vista and 7. Depending upon which Windows 7's variations, you have only one Office assistant, and you have to rename the office assistant four files from what you want to the Paperclip! You can track these fies down depending upon where you placed MS Office where you installed it (USUALLY in "C:\Program Files (x86) for Windows 7). Some variant of 7 wont load in the MS Agent Server, that is found in "C:\Windows\MS Agent and make a shprtcut to the Startup folder in your user profile folder. Windows 7 somehow block you from accessing the start menu. You have to cut to the chase and be an administrator and set its permissions to your user profile name and DELETE the 'EVERYONE' in which case is denying you access... I am that much of an expert to cut through the cheese to access about 90% if the protected files, Windows do not want you to see as how durty it is! Some of it it takes a lot of persistance to figure it out. It is best you know what you are doing but In my case., one PC out of eight has MS OFFICE 2007 Student and the rest have MS Office 2000 Pro. In one it has Windows XP HE and Windows Vista as two operating systems in the same case, and both have MS OFFICE 2000 PRO and work flawlessly. I specialize in troubleshooting problems like this, and 8 PCs are up and running very smoothly.  Three have Windows 7, five have Widows XP and one has Vista. I got Vista as my version of  Windows 7 as 32-bit OS so I can run the older software that the 64-bit version of Windows wont.

The old addage : "You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make him drink!" Same here with the NEW software if it does not work, you, you don't have to accept it like Microsoft want you to belivie with the newer versions of Windowsl They leave out a lot of stuff in Windows 8 and call it NEW!!!

I just want to save a file as a straight pdf - and One Note won't allow it. No matter what I do, when saving a report from a proprietary program that is a pdf already, one note opens and tries to get me to save the report. It looks like **** in one note, and looks fine with just a pdf. I'm new to windows 8 and I'm sure its just growing pains, but this is extremely frustrating. any help on how to get one note to not be the default would be appreciated.

I find ONE Note is a total diaster to me, I do not like any program to scatter its files into each and every folder in every partition taking up valuable drive space as one clustor in size as 4096 bytes as being empty. It may not slow down the PC but it surely fills up the hard disk drive in a hurry and slows IT down. I went about uninstalling ONE NOTE by uninstalling MS Office 2007 Student completely. Since I paid $200 for the CD I was easy to exclude it from the installer list, It was a success, however, I had to search for "One Note Table of Contents,TOC" and delete all 4096 of them and it worked. I find out now I do not NEED to install MS OFFICE 2007 Student when I find that MS OFFICE 2000 Pro works better for me considering that it needs a little more help in running it with Windows 7. It errrors needing installing the Office assistant, but YOU do not need to go through that process. I have to run "Agent Server" before I open MS Word 2000 Pro., MS outlook 2000 Pro, MS Excel 2000 Pro or any other component. Some versions of the earier versions od Windows 7 will allow one selection if the Office Assistant. as all you do is swap files with the Paperclip to which office assistant as I did with the Genius. As the Genius was renamed the Paperclip, and the rest are discarded. This also works with Windows Vista!!! Also I can set the compatibility mode in MS Office 2007 to generate and read MS Offoce 2000 Pro files by selecting MS OFFICE '97 - 2003 .DOC format, and I can work with either version of MS OFFICE with no problems at all. I have three PCs that have Windows 7, and one has MS Office 2007 Student for kicks as to know what is the same or different about it. Another PC I have has Both Windows XP and Windows Vista as I can seclect which OS I can use. Both have MS OFFICE 2000 Pro. And by finding the 'Agent Server" it is in "C:\Windows\system 32", as you might make a shortcut to the desktop for it. If you quit MS Word 2000 Pro, to run MS Excel, you might have to rerun the Agent Server. Windows Vista or 7 does not automaticly start running it YOU DO!

There is a good reason for hating the OneNote key that is on the new W7 keyboard. I keep hitting that key which deletes everything I've been typing. I've lost entire paragraphs in a book I'm writing, and I can't even get through an email without all of the message disappearing.  How do I get rid of this key?  Can I tape it down or is there a way to disable that key from doing its thing?  I'm going slightly mad since my little finger hits the OneNote key instead of the Shift key that I'm used to!
