What is a reliable safe way to download a "Bradley Hand ITC" font for Home student office 2010?

loading 2007 was my original plan. On the old machine (which still works) I had a problem loading office 2007 upgrades and eventually this messed up my registry that eventually caused me to receivethe error message, "windows host services has stopped working and has shut down". When I got that message I would get kicked offline and would have to reboot to get on again. So I was hesitant to load 2007 because I didnt want to risk upgrade problems on my new machine. Maybe it was the way 2007 worked with Vista that messed things up. If I do what you suggest (loading 2007), should I erase the 2010 starter version first? When I set up my new machine the 2007word files were not populated and gave me two options, buy 2010 online or use the starter version, which Im now using. Will 2007 load on a machine that has Windows 7? Lastly, if I go the copy route, where do I find the font files in 2007 to copy (there are about 5 different fonts I need from 2007) and where do I type in the file names in 2010?

The fonts will be in the Fonts folder in Windows. It may be a Hidden folder. The font filenames are sometimes hard to recognize, so you may want to open Control Panel | Fonts first, select the fonts in question, and look at their properties to get the actual filename. Then you can just copy them to a USB stick or the like. In Windows 7, there's no Install command in the Fonts folder; I believe you just right-click on the font (on the HD or the flash drive) and choose Install.

Actually, I'm looking at my XP setup, and if I look at the Fonts folder in C:\WINDOWS\Fonts, the actual font names are reflected. In Details view, both font name and filename are listed. Bradley Hand is BRADHITC.TTF.

Im thinking I should be bold and load 2007. However, the system requirements dont list Windows 7.You mentioned its transferrable but I might have to activate it by phone? I have the disc and product key, and it mentions Windows server 2003 or higher operating systems. Do you think it'll load ok and if it doesn't, do you think it will simply say so and not cause a trainwreck?

I had Office 2007 installed on Windows 7 before upgrading to Office 2010. The package doesn't list Windows 7 because Word 2007 came out before Windows 7. Windows 7 will run Office versions back to at least 2003, probably XP.

Thanks, thats good to know. I'm going to uninstall the 2010 starter version before I load up Home Student Office 2007. Did you experience any problems with auto updates with Office 2007? Mine would install the updates but couldn't configure them after the reboot. I had over a years worth of failed updates in my update log which led to registry problems, which is why I bought a new machine.
