view only one page on the screen at a time

Hi,

I'm running Microsoft Office XP on win7 64bit and can't seem to find a way to view only one page in a Word document. If I download or write more than one page they come up in two page side by side format on the screen. Is there a way to set one page at a time viewing as default?

Guys, there is a VERY easy fix for Office XP / 2003 users:

Make your MS Word window fullscreen

Now it might display 2 pages side by side (depending on your screen resolution)

To get back to a single page while using the PRINT LAYOUT view, follow below:

Click on VIEW -> choose WEB LAYOUT -> Click VIEW again -> now go back to PRINT LAYOUT

The problem should be solved, if it occurs again in the future, just follow these quick steps

    THIS WORKS! Thank you very much Crzyakta for your clear instructions and for sharing them.

    At last a simple, quick and very easy way to work the way I want and not the way the designers think I should - one page centred in a full window at my choice of resolution and my choice of zoom (usually 58%, the exact size of an A4 sheet on my large screen). It works at any other zoom size too and keeps the same view next time I open the program - I'm using Word 2007. Excellent.

    Has any one found a FIX for Office 2007 or higher?

    I can click VIEW --> ONE PAGE, but this becomes time consuming when opening up 50 documents a day.

    I'd like a way to change the defaultview to one page.

    Svenson14 - It works on for Office 2010, as long as you leave the 100% Zoom key alone!.  If you've got the page set on 100% and are getting two pages displayed, put it into Web Layout view and then put it back into Print Layout view and, Hey Presto, one page width is on the screen.  I'm amazed that this discussion has been going on form 3 or 4 years and none of the Learned Contributors knew about this fix.  It mightn't be permanent but it's pretty easy to implement for a problem that only seems to occur from time to time (for me at least)
