view only one page on the screen at a time

Hi,

I'm running Microsoft Office XP on win7 64bit and can't seem to find a way to view only one page in a Word document. If I download or write more than one page they come up in two page side by side format on the screen. Is there a way to set one page at a time viewing as default?

Guys, there is a VERY easy fix for Office XP / 2003 users:

Make your MS Word window fullscreen

Now it might display 2 pages side by side (depending on your screen resolution)

To get back to a single page while using the PRINT LAYOUT view, follow below:

Click on VIEW -> choose WEB LAYOUT -> Click VIEW again -> now go back to PRINT LAYOUT

The problem should be solved, if it occurs again in the future, just follow these quick steps

    I don't think anyone who uses msword could consider it 'crappy.'  However, I consider it **'the'**or at least 'an' alpha-dog among word processing platforms, and obvious hiccups like this one surprise me when they enjoy such longevity.  Nonetheless, the macro makes it all better for my current needs.  Kudos to Microsoft for their fine software and its features, work-around or not.

    Go to view > zoom > uncheck many pages, select the number of pages to view.

    Go to VIEW >> under the Zoom tab select "One Page"
