view only one page on the screen at a time

Hi,

I'm running Microsoft Office XP on win7 64bit and can't seem to find a way to view only one page in a Word document. If I download or write more than one page they come up in two page side by side format on the screen. Is there a way to set one page at a time viewing as default?

Guys, there is a VERY easy fix for Office XP / 2003 users:

Make your MS Word window fullscreen

Now it might display 2 pages side by side (depending on your screen resolution)

To get back to a single page while using the PRINT LAYOUT view, follow below:

Click on VIEW -> choose WEB LAYOUT -> Click VIEW again -> now go back to PRINT LAYOUT

The problem should be solved, if it occurs again in the future, just follow these quick steps

    I chose single page as suggested.  It worked.  Then when I put back to 100%, I got the two pages back.

    Now I have the single page and leave it at 75%, but all the 8-1/2x11" pages have shrunk.  It took until page 72 until I see the correct size paper.  I've spent all evening having to reset every page in my document, then see it was the program that screwed up.  Just don't know what to do.

    Macros are part of what Protected view is trying to protect us from. :-)  You can turn it off, as Doug suggested.

    You might want to turn off Protected View by going to File>Options>Trust Center>Trust Center Settings>Protected View and remove the check mark from the box for "Enable Protected View for Outlook attachments".

    Stefan, this works really nice if you open word documents from anywhere else but e-mails (which happens to be the standard way I do). When opened from e-mail you get an error which declares that macro fails because there is no document open.

    This might also be caused by the protected view though.
