view only one page on the screen at a time

Hi,

I'm running Microsoft Office XP on win7 64bit and can't seem to find a way to view only one page in a Word document. If I download or write more than one page they come up in two page side by side format on the screen. Is there a way to set one page at a time viewing as default?

Guys, there is a VERY easy fix for Office XP / 2003 users:

Make your MS Word window fullscreen

Now it might display 2 pages side by side (depending on your screen resolution)

To get back to a single page while using the PRINT LAYOUT view, follow below:

Click on VIEW -> choose WEB LAYOUT -> Click VIEW again -> now go back to PRINT LAYOUT

The problem should be solved, if it occurs again in the future, just follow these quick steps

    To clarify, you don't have to create the macro; you could just install one that someone else has created. However, if you would rather avoid macros altogether, you could just change the zoom manually.

    The slightest touch to the zoom in the lower right corner changes the page from one to multiple and from thin to accurate.  I don't know how to make a macro.  I'm almost 77 years old.

    I finally figured out how to get the light green hue removed from my text and styles.  I used the little paint can and changed to no color.  Then I had to delete all the styles that had it.

    I would also like any help with how to make pictures stay in once place and not swim around the page many times that I open the document.

    I want to send memoirs of my mom and dad to blurb.com or somewhere to get a book made, but don't know how it will arrive.  I don't want pictures floating and titles of chapters being uncentered.  I do I keep these things from happening?  Does anyone have a solution?

    You will have to either change the zoom manually, as Doug suggested, or force one-page view at a 100% zoom by running a macro.

    Increase the zoom ratio until you get the display that you want.
