view only one page on the screen at a time

Hi,

I'm running Microsoft Office XP on win7 64bit and can't seem to find a way to view only one page in a Word document. If I download or write more than one page they come up in two page side by side format on the screen. Is there a way to set one page at a time viewing as default?

Guys, there is a VERY easy fix for Office XP / 2003 users:

Make your MS Word window fullscreen

Now it might display 2 pages side by side (depending on your screen resolution)

To get back to a single page while using the PRINT LAYOUT view, follow below:

Click on VIEW -> choose WEB LAYOUT -> Click VIEW again -> now go back to PRINT LAYOUT

The problem should be solved, if it occurs again in the future, just follow these quick steps

    I was frustrated with this, and then my wife suggested something that was ridiculously easy -- simply grab the lower right hand corner of the window and move it to the left. The window automatically scales from a two-page view to a single page view. This is connected to your actual project, so if you save it in either format (one-page/two-page), the next time you load that document it will preserve that same format.

    I stumbled upon this question beause I had it myself. Then I realized it is so much easier than any of the answers posted here! 

    When word opens a doc in a 2 page view that we don't want, simply click the "view" tab (up top in the row with home, insert, etc) and select "one page".  The zoom button is right next door to set the size to 100%.  It is 3 simple clicks.    VIEW -- ONE PAGE --- 100%

    I don't know how to set that as default, so you have to do it every time a doc opens that way, but it's not really so painful.  LOL  :)
