Do you mean within a cell with text wrapping turned on? You can only change the font size, you have no direct control over line spacing within a cell.
If you mean between cells, you can change the row height, of course.

Using a shape is not a solution. Yes, it would work but my goodness... we're talking about a large spreadsheet with hundreds of records. Title row alone would take too much time to use this "trick". MS needs to repair as a bug.
I couldn't agree more. This is extremely frustrating to no longer have this control. Why does MS continue to remove functionality from us? Will they add it back in next version so we must upgrade again.
As others have said, Microsoft failed to provide a way to do this directly. However, some readers may want to think about using the text area of "shapes". For instance, I recently inserted a rectangle, typed a few lines of text, and used right-click-Paragraph to squeeze together my text into a cramped cell.
