How do I change the spacing between the lines in 2010 excel, Is there a way to make the lines closer together

Do you mean within a cell with text wrapping turned on? You can only change the font size, you have no direct control over line spacing within a cell.

If you mean between cells, you can change the row height, of course.

    It didn't work for me in Excel 2010, this is what I did:

    Type a long text, line "This is a test for line spacing in cell to see if copying and pasting solves the ugly default spacing"

    Select "text warp". You should en with a cell with multiple lines "ugly spaced".

    1. copy the contents of the cell.

    Two ways, none worked:

    • Select cell, right mouse button, click on copy
    • Select text on text line (long box above cell letters)
    1. delete the contents of the cell.

    Three ways, none worked:

    • Press Delete key on keyboard
    • Right button, select "Clear contents"

    - Right button, select "Cut"

    1. paste the copied contents back into the cell.

    None of the above combinations works, it remains the same ugly spacing.

    Is there a setting that has to be set for this to properly work?

    It works GREAT for me on Excel 2010....YOU must be doing something wrong...
