Microsoft Word Starter 2010 can't be opened. Try again or repair the product in control panel

When i try to open my Microsoft Word Starter i get an error message saying,"Microsoft Word Starter 2010 cant be opened. Try again or repair the product in control panel" and i cant access any of the word file!!

I haven't tried anything to solve this problem. But i had recently deleted a registry from HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\Folder types{ef87b4cb-f2ce-4785-8658-4ca6c63e38c6} in order to solve the search problem in my windows 7. so help!!

You can try what I did; just Click Control Panel < Programs< Programs and Features, then find Microsoft Office Starter - English, and right click it.  Click Change < Click Yes.

And after a few minutes, your Office Starter should be good and ready to go! :)

Click-2-Run is the Application Virtualization (App-V) streaming version of Office 2010. It is available for both the Office Home and Student 2010, and Office Home and Business 2010 products. For more information about Click-2-Run, you can check the link below:

Based on the current situation, we can try to remove the virtual drive and the Click-2-Run program, then install the Click-2-Run version again. If you do not want to install the Click-2-Run version, you can choose to install the traditional version.

Remove the drive (which can be with any name other then the one you use by default). Check any drive that got created (drive which you normally don�??t find in your system). Remove the drive.

Open the temp folder and delete all the files in the temp folder.

Try to uninstall Click-2-Run from Windows installed application under Control Panel--> Programs and Features.

Restart the computer and click on the link below:-

    I have found the answer; (For Windows 7) I just experienced this problem and found a way to fix it.  What you can do is this: 1) Click on "Control Panel", 2) Click on "Programs", 3) Click on "Programs and Features" (Should be one of the Headings), 4) Find Microsoft Office Starter - English and 'right click it'; now you should have two options: "Uninstall" and "Change" - Click on "Change".  & 5) A window will pop up, asking if you wish to repair Microsoft Office; you click "yes".

    Now it should take your computer a while to repair and redownload everything.  You may get a window on the bottom right of your screen notifying you that it is still downloading; be patient and wait a minute or two; your Microsoft Office Starter should be up and ready to go soon after. :)

    -A little late, but, it works! :)

    If you are using windows it does in fact delete the program. Do  not follow above instructions the prompt to change or repair does not in fact appear for this error. Learn from my mistake of reading this blog. To go and state the obvious...... That will work on xp only..........
