I am trying to embed a video from youtube directly into my powerpoint presentation. Under the insert tab and video pull down list, I have the option of "video from file" and "video from clipart", but the option of "video from website" is there in the pull down menu but I can't "click" it. The option is "greyed out" please help ty.

Windows Media Player 10 or higher
32-bit Office 2010

Yep, looks like they installed an update which killed the menu. I'm sorry Microsoft but you really have got to wonder what's wrong with your thinking if that's correct!
The update seems to be KB 2553145 and can be uninstalled and set to hidden if you want (at your own risk)

I am using the 32-bit version of Windows Vista with the following:
MS Office 2010 Professional: Service Pack 2 (32-bit)
Flash Player version: 11.8.800.94
Windows Media Player version: 11.0
It meets the requirements given above but I am still having the problem.
Echo wrote that more than 3 years ago when it WAS the problem. It's no longer valid as there is a 64 bit version of Flash now.
BUT
If you are up to date with updates then the command will have disappeared (see my last post) and the embed code was broken anyway.
If you are not up to date then You Tube have changed the API (at least twice!) and the embed code no longer works.

My computer is fully upto date with Flash and Windows Media Player. I use Vista 32-bit with Office 2010. "Insert from a webisite" option was avilable until three days ago. Suddenly dissapeared. The only thing I suspect that Windows had some major updates few days ago and somehow it removed the insert option from the menu!!
Yes, I have tried to uninstall the the update, KB 2553145 but the option is still missing. I'm not sure if I uninstalled it properly as I am still seeing the KB 2553145 on the Windows Update history as an installed update. Shouldn't be removed from the list after uninstallation?
The other thing is that I don't undersatand what it means by "Can't Find The Original on You Tube?" on http://www.pptalchemy.co.uk/PowerPoint\_Flash\_Player\_Version.html. "Edit Links to Files" under FILE > Info is not available on my Powerpoint? I've already installed the add-in but it's not working properly.
Please help. How could I bring the option back? I could figure out the rest such as by putting "http:" and changing from "version=3" to "version=2" in the embedded code. Thank you.
