I am trying to embed a video from youtube directly into my powerpoint presentation. Under the insert tab and video pull down list, I have the option of "video from file" and "video from clipart", but the option of "video from website" is there in the pull down menu but I can't "click" it. The option is "greyed out" please help ty.

Requirements for online video sites (Youtube, etc.) are as follows:
Flash Player 10+
Windows Media Player 10 or higher
32-bit Office 2010

I too am having problem embedding website video into my ppt silde. the message always shows that the link is not valid. could it be the link path not right or is it something else. I'm working from a computer linked to my company server and I think this might be the cause.

We have been hard at work to bring back support for YouTube videos to PowerPoint. We are happy to share that we are now bringing back support for inserting and playing back YouTube videos in PowerPoint 2010 and PowerPoint 2013 with the latest updates.

You need to read some of the more recent posts. Microsoft removed the option in an update last September. 32 / 64 bit makes no difference.
IF you have 2010 this page may help get it back and also give an alternative method of including you tube video.
