OneNote Linked Notes Window is docking on top of screen not the side

Somehow,.... I don't know how, my "linked Notes" window has started to dock on top of my screen.  It cannot be moved, sized, or otherwise adjusted.  I've checked the "dock new sidenotes to the side of the desktop" in the options.  I've seen a few other people mention this problem of locating the docking window, but so far no answers.

I had the same problem. Dragging the top bar to the right side of the screen while it's docked does the trick. It doesn't look like you are dragging it when you are doing it, but when you release it at the side of the screen, OneNote readjusts to a right-side docked position.

    Maochen: I wasn't able to drag the window at all.  I could increase or decrease the horizontal size somewhat (to about half of the screen).

    Bischt: You win the kewpie doll !!! ;-)  I hadn't seen the "dock to desktop" option under the View tab before.  I had checked the box to dock on the side of the desktop in the OneNote options, but that did no good.  The option on the View tab did the trick.  Thanks!

    It does not remove any file or data from within onenote.

    Yes, it can.  If you make offline changes to a shared notebook and delete the cache, these changes are gone.  This includes notebooks on SkyDrive, SharePoint, UNC, external harddrives, etc.  Don't delete your cache until OneNote syncs with the server and your notebooks all have green check-mark icons.

    Please click the left mouse button on title bar of docked OneNote window, and hold it. then Move you mouse to other side of screen.
