My Microsoft account got blocked earlier this week as unusual activity was detected. When I try to verify my account, the only options available to me are a security code sent to my phone number or the account recovery form. For whatever reason, if I try the phone verification method I get the error message saying 'That verification method isn't working right now. Please try another method.'.
This is very frustrating as the number still works and I can still change my password through the 'Forgot password' button. Doing this sends me a message with a security code to the same number so I know it can work. I have also tried the account recovery form several times with as much detail as it would let me put in, and that still doesn't work. All my important emails are in this account and I really need to recover them, but nothing seems to work!
Thank you for your help

Change cell phone numbers
I need the phone number to change to 4107946683
I can not make the second step verification to access my mail, as it is linked to an old mobile phone number that I changed many years ago. Is there any way to replace the old phone number with a new one to access my mail?
I'm blocked; a customer since 1990s with paid support and never had this happen. I waited for 5 hours on support chat which finally said I was next in line and then poof gone
