Why does my "tab" key no longer cycle out of the "TO" area? Outlook Live Web Browser

Good morning,

Within the past 2 days, my Outlook Live web browser will no longer tab from the "TO" field to the "CC" field or the "BCC" field when email addresses autopopulate into the "TO" field.

It has tabbed fine for almost 5 years for all contacts, but for the past few days, it will no longer work on any of the names in my contact list.

If I enter their name and then try to tab down to the subject line, it highlights the name in yellow, but it will never tab down to the other fields.

If I put my cursor in the subject line and then tab, the cursor will move from the subject line to the body of the email.

Why is the Outlook Live web browser functioning this way on certain names in my contact list?

I have cleared my cache and cookies.

I have tried using incognito mode.

Nothing has worked.

Same issue. Never knew how much you use the tab button until they decide to take that feature away!

How about NOT updating so often?!?! Especially when you take away important things like the function of the tab button!

I have been using that button since my typewriter days!

UPDATE- Someone suggested this trick and it worked!

I completely closed my Outlook email browser. Then re-opened in Microsoft Edge. Sent an email-even though we NEVER use MS Edge- Entered Recipient name, then Tabbed to the subject line, like always! Then sent the email to myself as a test. Then closed Edge. Reopened Outlook and tried to send an email and it worked.

I feel like I will have to do that every time I open Outlook. But we will see.

I use chrome as well - I signed completely out of email, closed the browser window and then opened a new one and logged back on to hotmail.

Now I can tab to subject - YAY!

    good luck!

OMG IT WORKED! Just update Edge browser, which I googled and did exactly below and BOOM! back to normal

To update the Edge browser, follow these steps:

    1. Click the menu button (three horizontal dots) in the upper right corner.
    2. Click "Help and feedback" > "About Microsoft Edge".
    3. Edge will automatically check for updates and install them if any are found.
    4. When the update finishes, click "Restart".
    5. Edge will restart with the latest version in place.

My IT guy had me close every window down on outlook app (make sure you close everything associated with the outlook app, including your calendar, To Do list and all the other "add ons"). He then had me open up Microsoft edge and login to my outlook on the edge browser. Had me try creating an email and tabbing and it worked there! He then had me close edge and re-open the app. Had me start a new email and try it and it worked! This has been driving me nuts for days. This fixed mine though. Hope it helps for some.

Worked for me. Sorry if this doesn't help you but hopefully it does.
