Outlook webpage refreshes whenever emails with attachments are opened or writing new emails

Just as the title says, this began for the first time this morning. My Outlook webpage will refresh within seconds of opening any emails with attachments or opening up a new email to write regardless of email account or browser. I've tried on Microsoft Edge, Firefox, and my main browser, Chrome, to no avail. Have not found any solutions including clearing browsing history/cache/cookies, disabling any and all extensions, and even removing extensions from my browser entirely. I've also reset my password twice, restarted my computer, and don't know what to do from here.

As other users have noted, the issue affects multiple browsers on multiple operating systems. It's an issue with the Microsoft web app. And it's been an issue for almost a month. Why has Microsoft not been able to patch this yet?

Incidentally, this is not the only support thread related to this issue... here's another, with the same frustrating pattern of an immediate suggestion from Microsoft support, followed by dozens of users pointing out that the suggested fixes are all temporary and do not address the root cause, which is persistent and is clearly an issue with the release. Not sure how many more support threads there are for this same issue, but I really wish Microsoft would wake up and address this.

Hi, I've just read through this thread after my Outlook starting showing all the same issues.

I logged out of microsoft, removed cookies for all microsoft, office, and outlook websites, then went back into the outlook site, logged back in, and everything worked as normal.

    Hope that helps someone!!

Thanks Natan. This working well for one day, now it's happening again 🫠 . I'm using Arc and Safari but it's rebooting in both. What a mess.

    Dear user,

Thanks for your post in Microsoft Community.

Thank you very much for providing the detailed information. I understand that you are experiencing a issue where the Outlook web page refreshes when opening emails with attachments or when composing a new email, which can indeed be inconvenient for your work.

Based on the situation you described, here are a few steps you can try:

    1. Attempt to switch network environments to see if the refresh is caused by network fluctuations (since you mentioned the issue occurs with any browser), such as trying to log in to the web version using mobile data.
    2. Check if there is an automatic update of Outlook running in the background, and if so, please wait for the update to complete before trying again.

If the above steps do not resolve the issue, I recommend that you use New Outlook to see if there is any improvement in the situation.

In the meantime, we will continue to monitor this issue, and if there are any new solutions, we will notify you promptly. Please be patient, and thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Wishing you a smooth work process!

    Best regards
