UPDATE 28Apr2025: I renewed and changed my subscription to Microsoft Personal Classic and that *seemed* to eliminate Co-Pilot. For how long? Who knows? But at least now its no longer showing up on my emails. Thank you to everyone who shared my frustrations and who offered suggestions.

How do I remove Copilot from my Outlook email (and all other applications for that matter)? I have a 5 year old MacBook Pro. I use Outlook (Hotmail account) and all of a sudden CoPilot has appeared when I start writing or replying to emails. I do NOT want it. I do NOT need it. It is VERY distracting and I want to disable and/or remove it. Any advice would be most appreciated. I tried searching online but could not find a suitable answer. Thank you.

I do not know if I have the New or Legacy Outlook.

I am also changing my mail. It blocks me from even starting an email message on my own.

I didn't have quite that big a problem but just having all those things thrown in to "encourage" you to use the new technology is quite aggravating. It's interesting that they can't figure out a way to stop sending their messages to junk. I truly wonder what kind of experts they have working for them.

I have significant concerns regarding the copilot feature. I am apprehensive about where my personal data and information may be transmitted. It is quite troubling to witness the direction Microsoft has taken. I firmly request the removal of copilot, as I do not wish to have it on my computer or within my personal emails. The absence of an option to disable this feature raises serious concerns. I urge Microsoft to address this issue promptly.

I'm going to second pretty much everything everyone else said. Time to find a new email program, and probably a new operating system, as big a PIA as that is going to be.

Also, I'm kind of wonder if the "Microsoft representative" that replied to Maria Jo's original question isn't an AI. The reply is a little too smarmy to be convincingly human. If it's a person, the "I know how you feel" stuff was utterly unconvincing. Actually, it was kind of infuriating. Definitely not the way a business ought to be run!
