Using older versions of Outlook for Mac in business environments
Outlook co-pilot is such a distraction, and a time waster when composing an email. I moved to Mac mail comes loaded with macOS. Problem solved.

Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
UPDATE 28Apr2025: I renewed and changed my subscription to Microsoft Personal Classic and that *seemed* to eliminate Co-Pilot. For how long? Who knows? But at least now its no longer showing up on my emails. Thank you to everyone who shared my frustrations and who offered suggestions.
How do I remove Copilot from my Outlook email (and all other applications for that matter)? I have a 5 year old MacBook Pro. I use Outlook (Hotmail account) and all of a sudden CoPilot has appeared when I start writing or replying to emails. I do NOT want it. I do NOT need it. It is VERY distracting and I want to disable and/or remove it. Any advice would be most appreciated. I tried searching online but could not find a suitable answer. Thank you.
I do not know if I have the New or Legacy Outlook.

They absolutely suck. MS forces updates and changes we do not want and do not need. It should be a choice.
STOP DOING this **** ****!!!!!
I can't believe how absolutely BALLSY Microsoft has gotten with their privacy invading BS. Google got busted up by the DOJ for less than this. People need to start writing to their Reps to find out why the same is not being done to Microsoft. This is MY email, MY communication, and MY machine. It is absolute **** that they think they had ANY BUSINESS PUTTING THIS GARBAGE IN MY ACCOUNT.
It is absolutely appalling that this wretched feature cannot be removed. It's an intrusive distraction. I open an email message and above the message I see "Summary by Copilot". I don't want a summary - I just want to read the message. I'm good at speed-reading and don't need a summary, especially if the message is two lines long. I am not a child!
It is beyond irritating.
Dear Marla Jo,
Thanks for using Microsoft products and posting in the community.
I understand that you want to remove Copilot from your Outlook emails and that this is causing you problems, I understand how you feel.
I know: Copilot came up while you were editing your email and it bothered you, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
After thorough research and consultation, it has been concluded that there is no Copilot-related switch to disable or remove it at this time.
We do understand your concerns about this feature and how it distracts you from your productivity.
However, as it relates to Outlook product design, it is highly recommended that you direct your valuable feedback to the Microsoft Product Development team:
You can use your computer to access the web version of Outlook: https://outlook.live.com/ , log in to your email account, Help - Feedback - Report a Problem
You can expect subsequent updates to Outlook.
