Removing Copilot from Outlook email

UPDATE 28Apr2025: I renewed and changed my subscription to Microsoft Personal Classic and that *seemed* to eliminate Co-Pilot. For how long? Who knows? But at least now its no longer showing up on my emails. Thank you to everyone who shared my frustrations and who offered suggestions.

How do I remove Copilot from my Outlook email (and all other applications for that matter)? I have a 5 year old MacBook Pro. I use Outlook (Hotmail account) and all of a sudden CoPilot has appeared when I start writing or replying to emails. I do NOT want it. I do NOT need it. It is VERY distracting and I want to disable and/or remove it. Any advice would be most appreciated. I tried searching online but could not find a suitable answer. Thank you.

I do not know if I have the New or Legacy Outlook.

    I understand that Caligula's favorite saying was "Let them hate, so long as they fear", or as he would put it, and as you noted, Oderint dum metuant.

    At this point, I attribute the issue to Microsoft having just paid programmers, not the best programmers, as this is bad programming as it results in dissatisfied customers.

    A few years back, I was teaching an Advance C course and I gave out a homework assignment where the students would sort 25,000 integers. The were to create their own code for a quicksort and then run the same numbers through using Microsoft's qsort function. They would get the time it took for their function to run and Microsoft's qsort to run. Usually around half the class would discover that their quicksort code worked faster than that of Microsoft. It was a great moral booster for these students....

    The freedom to do anything at all that YOU CHOOSE to do on the machine you paid for. But, even though Microsoft is *#$+:#! nosy, privacy Invading PITA, you have to address the real issue. The government taking your right to control YOUR property and placing it, in terms of importance, beneath Microsoft's want to make an insane profit off of YOUR data, is why no one has sued the **** out of Microsoft yet. Did you know they will record your KEY STROKES?

    I'm in the camp that only uses the web based Outlook.com.

    I don't install anything, nor see any options when using the web based Outlook.

    Please Microsoft, Please!

    Final Solution:

    Bought a Chromebook Plus. Now I'm in bed with the devil but it's my choice. Not the typical goose-fed bs from ms.

    Empty Outlook to Thunderbird. And revert to distrust deeply MS... again...

    I'm sorry, i did not want to make this anti co-pilot chat about uBlock origin. But yes. Only Firefox will maintain support.

    Still

    -AI need data to "learn", so biggest insult/issue is if Co-Pilot is included to read past emails and learn without consent?

    -So privacy of email goes out the windows, pun intended, for their marketing department? I pay premium believing I had privacy.

    -Co-Pilot will start changing Coca Cola in our emails when we mean drink?

    -The insults pile on...
