Removing Copilot from Outlook email

UPDATE 28Apr2025: I renewed and changed my subscription to Microsoft Personal Classic and that *seemed* to eliminate Co-Pilot. For how long? Who knows? But at least now its no longer showing up on my emails. Thank you to everyone who shared my frustrations and who offered suggestions.

How do I remove Copilot from my Outlook email (and all other applications for that matter)? I have a 5 year old MacBook Pro. I use Outlook (Hotmail account) and all of a sudden CoPilot has appeared when I start writing or replying to emails. I do NOT want it. I do NOT need it. It is VERY distracting and I want to disable and/or remove it. Any advice would be most appreciated. I tried searching online but could not find a suitable answer. Thank you.

I do not know if I have the New or Legacy Outlook.

This is so stupid - I'm having the exact same issues - when will you be giving us the option to disable it? at the very least we should be able to disable the pop up, it's the worst thing since the paperclip.

PLEASE remove COPILOT from my outlook emails. It is driving me to distraction! I do not need this. Why try to force me to use it? It is hampering my using emails via Outlook.

So, I got a call back, and she was able to instantly remove the copilot subscription.

But when I logged back in to msft.com, I downgraded to basic. , and it congratulated me that Copilot is now included, and 60 "AI Credits" are included. Then the AI credits cost money. The info is at : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/understanding-ai-credits-68530f1a-4459-4d02-9818-8233c1f673b8

So, if I use all 60 "AI" credits, does copilot go away in outlook.com, or does it charge me (w./ or w/o confirmation) cash $$ to use copilot? I have to scroll L/R, and I think this automatically selects copilot....

To get the call back, use the browser, not the popup help. You have to login. So, I won't send a link.

Saga continues.... Perhaps "basic" work around works if you install MSFT software on your device. I now get "install" popup nonsense... Sigh... I wonder if there's a way to turn that off... Checking also to see if I can get refund. I'll let you know.

    Sigh..

No, they do not care as to why they install all their NWO updates without our consent. To add insult they added that copilot nonsense to spy and scan our supposed to be personal emails.

I am sure this is illegal and everyone should have the right to turn this feature off if they wish! It makes me want to move away from Microsoft and use another platform. It is very disappointing!
