My outlook stop receiving emails nor can I send emails from outlook. There is no error message from Outlook stating why it's not syncing.

I've checked gmail acct, IMAP is enabled.

I've logged out of Outlook and re-link my gmail acct to outlook, didn't work.

I've uninstalled the new Outlook and set everything up, still didn't work.

This is the new Outlook version that i'm working with. It stopped working yesterday at 3:30pm. Everything was working fine then suddenly I couldn't send an email then noticed no new emails were coming in.

Here is what worked for me, after weeks of frustration. I realized that Google was trying to protect my account from becoming corrupted due to sync error, especially after PC Windows updates. :

Remove your GMail account from Outlook on all PCs, and your phone (all devices) by doing this:

Sign in to your Google Account, navigate to the Security section, and then under "Your devices," click "Manage all devices." You'll then be able to see all devices that are currently logged into your account. Sign out of ALL DEVICES even though some may be working fine.

Now sign back in on your PC with Outlook.

    Then on any other devices.

The problem is mostly with Google, not Microsoft. But both companies should meet to figure out how to either solve the problem, or have a simple way to resolve it without doing the procedure above. Once I did the above, the problem has not returned.

(1.) If problem was with Google, why did my gmail stop working only with Microsoft's "new Outlook" but continue working normally with the Windows Thunderbird app and with the Android Mail app?

(2.) Why did my Windows "new Outlook" resume working again with gmail (after a few weeks) when I made no changes at all to anything?

Probably more important to fix the problem rather than fix the blame.

    1. Google sync problems are not new. Can crop up with IMAP and POP differences when multiple devices are being used. This especially true when partial emails are abandoned and left as drafts.
    2. The new Outlook (I don’t prefer it) processes mail servers so quickly that it can become out of sync with other clients /devices. My problem seemed to remedy for a fortnight before the problem recurred.

Agree - I had the same experience. Microsoft pointed fingers at Google but I made no changes with Google connections, etc. and problem was resolved at some point with an Oulook update. . .

Same problem. Running Microsoft Outlook for Mac: Version 16.98 (25061520).

Major delays in receiving gmail for weeks, and now error messages when sending gmail - MessageDeliveryFailedException: Could not deliver the message... Failure code: 700

Error messages take days to appear, so now I don't know which emails are sending.

No delays/issues when I switch to legacy Outlook, but I can't run that for more than an hour or so because it eats memory and my computer freezes.

I would try deleting/re-adding accounts but seems from what I am reading this is a temporary fix...

Outlook and Google need to play nice together again!
