My outlook stop receiving emails nor can I send emails from outlook. There is no error message from Outlook stating why it's not syncing.

I've checked gmail acct, IMAP is enabled.

I've logged out of Outlook and re-link my gmail acct to outlook, didn't work.

I've uninstalled the new Outlook and set everything up, still didn't work.

This is the new Outlook version that i'm working with. It stopped working yesterday at 3:30pm. Everything was working fine then suddenly I couldn't send an email then noticed no new emails were coming in.

Here's the fix for Google GMail or Google Workspace accounts not updating with New Outlook

    1. Select the account that is not syncing, and remove the account (Menu bar settings, accounts, remove). Remove the account from ALL devices.
    2. Go to Google here: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833?hl=en and set up an app-specific password. YOU WILL NOT NEED TO USE THIS PASSWORD, but you still have to create one. Give it a name like "New Outlook". This somehow wakes up Google to work properly with the updated New Outlook.
    3. On any device, add your Google GMail or Google Workspace email account using your normal password, not the app-specific password.

The account will now sync again.

I was having the same problem… I deleted the account, restarted my computer, opened Outlook, added the Gmail account in instead of “sign in“ I did the one directly below it that is called “sync directly with Google“

    SOLUTION

    This worked for me:

    1. Create an app password. You can google how to do it but for gmail its done here: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833?hl=en

2, Remove the account from your device. I selected remove from all devices, not sure if the other option of removing from only this device works too

    1. Sign in again

Before creating the app password it would not work. I didnt even enter the app password anywhere, so maybe its just a coincidence. But its working now

I do not have any option to enter app password as it just automatically logs me in with passwordless entry via prompt on my phone
