You can uninstall the new Outlook from your system. That leaves you with only the classic version, assuming of course that it installed properly via https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/you-can-t-open-classic-outlook-on-a-new-windows-pc-5c94902b-31a5-4274-abb0-b07f4661edf5.

Based on the information you have shared with us; I understand you have a concern on how to switch back to classic outlook.

To switch back to the classic version of Outlook, follow these steps:

1. Please ensure that the office 365 applications are installed on your device
2. Open the new Outlook for Windows.
3. Locate the toggle switch near the top right corner of the window.
4. Slide the toggle to the left to switch back to classic Outlook Revert to legacy Outlook - Microsoft Support

You can try the above steps and let us know how it goes, if you have any further concerns, please feel free to reply here, we will work together to find a direction specific to the situation.

I've downloaded the classic outlook as instructed but the toggle switch that you mention is nowhere to be seen on the New(??) outlook...

This is doing my head in....I've been trying to get my Gmail account through to the new outlook but with NO success.....

Anything that you could do to help would be greatly appreciated
