Settings: Junk Mail: Blocked Senders: Domain Gostarmedia.com & *@gostsarmedia.com do not block incoming spam

For at least two weeks, I've been inundated with spam from the domain gostarmedia.com. I've created the following "solutions" all without success.

Rules

Sender Address Includes "gostarmedia" (without quotes)

Categorize as Spam

Move to Junk Email

Junk Mail

*@gostarmedia.com

gostarmedia.com

It would be really great if Hotmail could stop letting ****clowns like these from getting through if someone enters a valid domain. That or allow more wildcards (e.g. *@*.gostarmedia.com), instead of only allowing it in place of usernames preceding the @.

Today, I searched and deleted 16 out of 18 Junk Mail emails, that had the gostarmedia.com domain in their addresses.

Thanks!

I initially set the flow up to move these ****ing annoying emails to the Deleted folder (to make absolutely sure it wasn't deleting everything in the Junk folder). That worked fine (I was still getting the odd bit of spam from elsewhere that ended up in Junk) and now I have amended the flow to delete the gostarmedia emails I can see them appear briefly (a few seconds) in Junk before they get removed automatically. None have slipped through yet so double check you've got it all set up correctly.

Totally agree with you about blocking the whole domain - it can't be that difficult to make a change to Outlook so that we can do that!

    This works, thanks.

To help others I tried with these steps:

    • Go to https://flow.microsoft.com and sign-in with your hotmail/outlook credentials
    • Create
    • Automated cloud flow
    • Give the flow a name, eg "gostarmedia"
    • In the "chose your flows trigger" paste "When a new email arrives", then select the outlook.com option.
    • Hit the create button

(you will have to grant access too)

    • Select your junk folder in the folder field here
    • Click on '+ new step'
    • Select "condition"
    • In choose a value select "From", then "contains" and then "gostarmedia.com" in the third field
    • In the "if yes" field, search for outlook.com. Then once you get the Outlook.com actions, go for "delete email"

Save this and it will run on new emails to your junk folder. It is now working for me.

Problem solved... for now as this automated service is being deprecated soon by Microsoft, ie it won't be supported or updated but as it's simple hopefully the function remains.

This does the job - thanks! Just needed to add the Message ID in the last step ("delete email") from the dynamic content list.
