I just tried to access Outlook and I've been greeted with this message:
Something went wrong and we can't sign you in right now. Please try again later.
The Microsoft account login server has detected too many repeated authentication attempts. Please wait a moment and try again.
I've reset my password, been sent five or six e-mail login codes which have gotten me nowhere - and it wouldn't even send me one to my phone - and I am at the end of my patience. Can someone please advise me what I need to do to fix this? I've been locked out on my iPad and my phone, and trying to refresh on my laptop just gets me that message.

I believe this affected millions, and Microsoft is covering it up. Nothing in the media? And no attempts to contact us to fix it, to compensate for damages (business, travel, education, job loss)????

Yes, it is on a loop if rejecting you and making you sign up to second verification. Perhaps more than that.
I haven accessed my several accounts in a month.
But I have subscribed to a paid one, Outlook, never again!

It has messed up everything I have done and that I set up my business to use Microsoft…. Outlook calendar word etc etc etc
I can get it on my phone but not my desk too even though I paid for 5 they have no problem taking my money every month so fn mad I’m going call attorney general I Washington state
The only work around I have been able to make work is:
My Yahoo account works on the new Outlook. Our other accounts are all wi.rr.com. I can access those accounts going directly to wi.rr.com mail. Once I accessed them, I forwarded the mail to my yahoo account and now I get the mail from all 4 of our accounts coming to my Yahoo mail through Outlook. It's nuts, but it works until they fix this problem.

@clau b2010, just to note outlook still forwards to my paid email account and so far I can access outlook from my phone. When I try to open outlook on my Surface the inbox shows for about 3 seconds then the "two many tries" screen pops up. It is strange that I was able to log into Microsoft to reply to this post!
