Outlook Mail won't let me sign in

I just tried to access Outlook and I've been greeted with this message:

Something went wrong and we can't sign you in right now. Please try again later.

The Microsoft account login server has detected too many repeated authentication attempts. Please wait a moment and try again.

I've reset my password, been sent five or six e-mail login codes which have gotten me nowhere - and it wouldn't even send me one to my phone - and I am at the end of my patience. Can someone please advise me what I need to do to fix this? I've been locked out on my iPad and my phone, and trying to refresh on my laptop just gets me that message.

    Wow, you're saying you called Microsoft, can you tell me how you were able to get somebody on the line, beside a robot? Me it's been a month now that I'm trying to recover my hotmail account, because supposingly someone tried to get into my account that I have for over 30 years which I never had a problem with, and using the same password, filled out all the forms and I still get rejected by Microsoft so I wanted to call them but, I'm getting to a wall again.

    You can create on or more aliases for you Microsoft account..

    and learn how to create a new alias for you account.. Once created you log into the Alias and it has everything your original had and people can still send emails to the original name.

    Same problem! I keep getting the message "Something went wrong, and we can't sign in right now" 

    Outlook won't let me sign in. I'm entering my correct credentials, since I can sign in on my phone through the app.

My desktop computer is old, BUT IT'S STILL WORKING. It was working perfectly until the unauthorized Windows update, and then my computer started acting strangely.

The "Type here to search" option doesn't work. The Microsoft Store and saved passwords don't appear; everything is a mess. Is it time to upgrade from my HP to a MacBook? :(

    I had the same issue. It will not let me login and I changed the password many times.

    The apparent cause is Microsoft thinks there has been fraud or your account or it was hacked. They do not tell you this but just block your account.

    The only way around Microsoft is to add an alias to your account. Look for directions on how to do this. you will never be able to long into your account except through your alias.

    When you log in though your new alias, you can see all of your messages and people can still send messages to your old name, but for all time moving forward you need to only log into your alias
