Outlook Mail won't let me sign in

I just tried to access Outlook and I've been greeted with this message:

Something went wrong and we can't sign you in right now. Please try again later.

The Microsoft account login server has detected too many repeated authentication attempts. Please wait a moment and try again.

I've reset my password, been sent five or six e-mail login codes which have gotten me nowhere - and it wouldn't even send me one to my phone - and I am at the end of my patience. Can someone please advise me what I need to do to fix this? I've been locked out on my iPad and my phone, and trying to refresh on my laptop just gets me that message.

    I have the same problem. We have 4 email addresses that we could open with no problem in the Old Outlook. 1 is a Yahoo account and the other3 are wi.rr.com accounts. I was able to access my Yahoo account, but it will not let me into the other 3. I know the passwords are correct, because I can log onto the mail at wi.rr.com. What is the issue here?????

    I did a restore for my computer but it didn't do any good. One day later and I still can't get into Outlook. I'm able to access my email accounts on the provider's website (comcast/xfinity) and on my iPhone but I'd like to be able to use my PC :(

    I haven't bothered reseting my passwords because it's a MICROSOFT issue, not XFINITY. Their recent update is reminiscent of their CROWDSTRIKE crash June 19th 2024.

    UK update: I have now spent more than a few hours on this with the same issues as many here, and FINALLY managed to use a code that was sent to my 'recovery' email this morning at 11ish (which, at the time, wouldn't work). So it might worth trying that route if open to you. I hope this helps someone.
