Outlook Mail won't let me sign in

I just tried to access Outlook and I've been greeted with this message:

Something went wrong and we can't sign you in right now. Please try again later.

The Microsoft account login server has detected too many repeated authentication attempts. Please wait a moment and try again.

I've reset my password, been sent five or six e-mail login codes which have gotten me nowhere - and it wouldn't even send me one to my phone - and I am at the end of my patience. Can someone please advise me what I need to do to fix this? I've been locked out on my iPad and my phone, and trying to refresh on my laptop just gets me that message.

I have the same exact issue. Called Microsoft to no avail. They said I no longer have access to the "new outlook" since my email is AOL. It has to be a Microsoft application, i.e. hotmail. Have to go back to using the "classic" version. However, draft emails do not forward back to the "classic" version. I spent hours on a draft email this past week and now gone! They said not possible to retrieve from the "new outlook" anymore. Absolutely ridiculous to do this with no warning!

I have the same problem, and unable to resolve it. Yet, I was able to sign in here to reply. Getting really tired of all this jumping through hoops to get anything done! I get that they are making it more secure, but you'd think a company like Microsoft could get their act together.

Sounds more to me like they've bricked the new Outlook and just don't want to admit it! I'm seeing a lot of people on social media saying they can't access Outlook right now either because of this message, and I don't think it has anything to do with what e-mail you use. I don't even see an option to revert back to "classic" Outlook anywhere either, so I'm not sure how they'd even expect us to do that!

I keep reading that in other countries this issue seemingly is resolved. Not in the U.K. as lots are still not being able to access there new outlook accounts.

I was going to do what you have done as I thought that would solve the issue.

Microsoft don’t seem to want to help or acknowledge that there is a problem.

I’ve tried to ring and it redirects to the website and like you say can’t get into it as it’s asking for verification

I have the same issue. Been trying since last night to get back in.

I’ve managed to get into the classic version which is awful. I just want the new outlook

Won’t let me reset my password so can’t get a code says not available at this time. Then says I’ve tried logging in to many times! What are they going to do to put this right? Do you delete lose everything then maybe you might be able to use the new outlook again. Microsoft put this right please!
