Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management

I started encountering this problem recently. I didn't make any changes that should have prompted this newfound issue. When I click on an unread email (I sort my emails by date, the newest at the top), Outlook will frequently automatically scroll down in my Inbox to older emails (usually to yesterday's or last week's emails). It also happens when I click on an older email after reading a new email. It doesn't do this every time, but I would say it does it more times than not. I searched to see if anyone else had encountered this problem and found a couple of posts. I followed Microsoft's instructions (disabling add-ins, repairing the application, restarting, updating, etc.), and nothing has fixed this issue. This is a super annoying glitch, and I'm tired of constantly scrolling back up in my inbox every time I go through my newer emails.
If it helps or matters, I use Microsoft 365 Apps for Business, Version 2411, Build 16.0.18227.20082. I do not like the new Outlook, so I am using the classic version on my desktop (not web-based). My computer is a Lenovo ThinkPad with Windows 11 Pro, 24H2 version.

Thank you for the support and shared link.
Unfortunately, I tried it on one of our users, it did not work. What can I say, it disappeared for a while and recovered with the same symptom.
I have the same issue, it also hangs when opening other subfolders of the inbox as well as not sending replies to messages. Attempting all of the suggestions here (reg fix does not work as I have latest 365 version therefore office 16 missing in registry) the only thing that works for me is to move all messages to another subfolder and work from there. Hope Microsoft are able to address this quickly.
Nathan, I have Outlook 365, version 2501, Build 18429.20132) and the reg keys fixed the issue for me.
Good News. Noticed that the Issue has been updated to Status: Fixed.

What is the meaning of "The Outlook Team is making a change from the service to fix this issue." ?
What service? Does the fix make any changes on the OS/Registry/Outlook when restarting Outlook? Is this a change to the Exchange Online service? In any event, how can we tell if the service fix has been applied in our environment?
Thanks for any insight.
