How to stop Outlook from jumping to older emails every time I click on unread email?

I started encountering this problem recently. I didn't make any changes that should have prompted this newfound issue. When I click on an unread email (I sort my emails by date, the newest at the top), Outlook will frequently automatically scroll down in my Inbox to older emails (usually to yesterday's or last week's emails). It also happens when I click on an older email after reading a new email. It doesn't do this every time, but I would say it does it more times than not. I searched to see if anyone else had encountered this problem and found a couple of posts. I followed Microsoft's instructions (disabling add-ins, repairing the application, restarting, updating, etc.), and nothing has fixed this issue. This is a super annoying glitch, and I'm tired of constantly scrolling back up in my inbox every time I go through my newer emails.

If it helps or matters, I use Microsoft 365 Apps for Business, Version 2411, Build 16.0.18227.20082. I do not like the new Outlook, so I am using the classic version on my desktop (not web-based). My computer is a Lenovo ThinkPad with Windows 11 Pro, 24H2 version.

I suspect might just be coincidence. Like all of the other work around suggestions, this one didn't work for me. I suspect w00fmaster 's update is most accurate and we'll need to wait for a fix.

I've also found that the jump can be to a more recent email if I've been active on an older one.

My Focused Inbox was already disabled and I have been having this problem ever since my Outlook updated last (about 2 weeks ago). I think it's a bug.

    >>Outlook options --> Mail --> disable (uncheck) Highlight flagged items in the message list

Did not work for me. Quitting Gramarly is still the solution for me.

**** Microsoft!!! It's been over a month since this bug has started occurring and you guys still haven't released an update fix?!??!? What's going on over there! I've had to abandon Outlook on ALL of my office computers because all my staff were driving me crazy complaining about their emails jumping back to old emails randomly every minute. I did ALL of the recommendations. I disabled all com add-ins, checked for updates, updated all my drivers, reset my view settings, everything. And as hundreds of others have reported, the bug is still there. Are you guys even looking at this problem? Like everyone has stated, it started around mid-December. It's not rocket-science for crying out loud, check whatever update(s) were released in December and figure out where you messed up and fix it! I've been paying for a corporate 365 subscription so this is very upsetting. If it's not fixed by the end of this month I'll be cancelling all my business Microsoft accounts.
