How do I TURN OFF the "Summary by Copilot banner that appears on every single email I receive in outlook?

I may, maybe once a year when tagged into a super long email thread try to get a summary... but 99.99% of the time I will never want to use this, as such the banner is annoying and consumes lots of valuable space where I could render my email.

How can I turn this off? or hide it by default?

I think the only thing that may work is as many people as possible email Microsoft asking them to remove it.

I have MS 365 as a home, individual user. I use the online, browser version of outlook (outlook.com). I know how to read and write and neither need nor want Copilot on in any way. I have the banner and the try draft with Copilot. The latter seems to be a way for a corporation to harvest what people write in their emails, so no way will I ever use that. AI uses a great deal of energy, so these AI features, forced on users by several tech companies, are counterproductive re: energy resources.

I don't want to add a 3rd party chrome extension; those always come with baggage of their own and can be disallowed by Chrome and I'm sure by MS at some point.

Give us our freedom of choice in how to use and what to enable for the products we buy. What we are facing is a form of corporate dictation of behavior. We subscribers are the ones funding MS; why alienate the people who are already your customers?

I agree. What is the best way to communicate our displeasure and request to MS?
