How do I TURN OFF the "Summary by Copilot banner that appears on every single email I receive in outlook?

I may, maybe once a year when tagged into a super long email thread try to get a summary... but 99.99% of the time I will never want to use this, as such the banner is annoying and consumes lots of valuable space where I could render my email.

How can I turn this off? or hide it by default?

I didn't ask for and do not want anything or anyone looking over my shoulder every time I write an email. I'm fluent enough to deal with it all myself, thanks, and I refuse to train my own successor or have everything I write scrutinised by some sort of digital Gestapo.

I thought the paperclip was irritating, but Copilot is intrusive, insulting and frankly downright sinister. If you can't give us a way to disable it completely - ideally removing it entirely from our systems - then I'll have to consider cancelling all my Microsoft accounts after more than 30 years and either investigating Linux or dusting off my old manual typewriter.

There is no way to reassure me and, judging by the replies, millions of others that Copilot is benign and will neither steal our ideas nor report us to some arbitrary censor. Particularly not since we seem now to be living under increasingly frightening and authoritarian governments which would just love unrestricted access to our personal communications and innermost thoughts.

Intended or not, this type of blanket surveillance would make it easy for said regimes to identify and act against all any social, political or other group to whom they randomly take a dislike.

I've already set my 365 account to revert to 'basic' upon renewal - but this will not take effect until November, and I'm not prepared to live that long under the eye of a cybernetic Big Brother.

As a paying customer, I'm asking you to give me back my freedom to choose how I wish to use the services I've purchased. While you're at it, please reinstate the option to buy a one-off, PC-based version of Word etc instead of demanding annual protection money to prevent anything 'happening' to my files. Microsoft is more than rich enough, this is just plain greed.

    Thanks

I disabled CO PILOT and this obnoxious unasked-for banner has remained on my email......this is like communism. Put out a disable option for so many disgruntled users.

I don't work with Power Point, but thank you very much for the information. It could be useful for someone else!
