Using New Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
I also do not want your AI copilot and find it appalling that users can't opt in or out. This needs to be corrected.

How do I TURN OFF the "Summary by Copilot banner that appears on every single email I receive in outlook?
I may, maybe once a year when tagged into a super long email thread try to get a summary... but 99.99% of the time I will never want to use this, as such the banner is annoying and consumes lots of valuable space where I could render my email.
How can I turn this off? or hide it by default?

I was receiving emails from a U.S. Military email address last year. Now that Summary By Copilot has appeared, I am no longer receiving emails from the EXACT same email address that I received last year. Who knows how many have been blocked since that program arrived.
Rather than forcing programs on everyone - especially when the adverse effects are not known - why don't you survey customers to ask them if they want to add the feature (whatever the "Feature" is supposed to be). By the way, all we want to do is send and receive emails. We don't need bells and whistles. We just need to communicate with our customers. So our default answer to any "bells and whistles" is no thank you.
I don't know if this is related, but in the past our emails went to our basic INBOX, then we routed them to specific email boxes. That has worked perfectly for years. About a month ago, we had in excess of 100 emails go to a box that we do not use that does not appear in the primary list of our email boxes. Customers were placing orders and we had no idea! Since we found the Microsoft Outlook problem, we have spent many nights catching up on orders we did not know existed and apologizing to customers. Is it a coincidence that the problem came up when Summary By Copilot was forced on us?
I don't expect anything from Microsoft Outlook regarding this. My impression is you are TOO BIG TO CARE about a small business. As long as the money keeps pouring in, who gives a **** what effects your changes have on basic daily business. I will most likely have to hire another IT specialist to come in to fix yet another Microsoft problem. Microsoft comes up with something new, the total problems it can cause are unknown, and then instead of asking if we want to change our system, it is just forced on us - without notice
I only use the browser version of Outlook! I also need this banner gone and ideally Copilot to be disabled. Any one else have a suggestion?
Here to say the same thing... logged on this morning to face the same unwanted nonsense.
Provide an option to turn it off - it's completely unnecessary to force this on every single email for all users. Overwhelming majority of us don't need it, and the rest of us don't need it on every single email.
I'll uBlock it if I have to, but a proper disable option would be best.
