How do I TURN OFF the "Summary by Copilot" banner that appears on every single email I receive in outlook?

I hope they listen.

I went back to 365 Personal Classic, it was fine. Zero AI garbage - yay!

I have a zero policy toward ads, and use Brave browser, since the trusted old ad blockers don't work as well as they used to.

But MS insists that Edge is required!

I opened a safe link from a trusted source, and it opened in Edge with this stupid 20-30 pixel high banner, that said that 'Safe links from Outlook and other compatible 365 apps open in MS Edge' for some garbage reason.

But true to MS current Our Way or the Highway mentality, there was no way to turn that off either! And to make it worse it stayed there even when I opened Edge normally!

So I took the Highway and cancelled my sub - yet again! And guess what, the same said safe-link opens fine from Wino Mail in Brave.
So there you have it - MS just forces to us to do stuff their way with their apps simply because they want too.

By the way MS why can I NOT uninstall Edge - I don't need it, and it is MY computer not yours.
I really think Microsoft should be rebranded to MicroSmoogle.

I really prefer Outlook webmail for its more attractive interface, but there's still no way to deactivate CoPilot in the web app. I saw that I had Outlook Classic on my computer so I opened it (I"m on Windows 10). It is not a pleasing interface and the text is almost too small to read. The zoom slider wouldn't work in the single pane view. But, there is only a button on the right side that says Suggestions when you open the email. This is not as intrusive as the banner. You can also remove the button by going to OPTIONS - Privacy Settings - Connected Experiences and uncheck the feature "Turn on experiences that analyze content". When you restart Outlook the button is gone. There is also an option to "Turn off automated switch to new Outlook app" in the General settings. Since they went to the trouble to make the setting optional in Outlook Classic, I assume they will eventually get around to making it optional in the web app. I tried contacting the Privacy team with a complaint but they only sent me a boilerplate reply that had nothing to do with Outlook.

To limit copilot intrusion in Office apps, go to file, options, and then toggle off copilot. Hope this helps. Another useful trick, if using the Edge browser, is to go to settings, and languages and toggle off copilot under "writing assistance."

I am cancelling Office 365 unless this stupid banner goes away.
