How do I TURN OFF the "Summary by Copilot banner that appears on every single email I receive in outlook?
I may, maybe once a year when tagged into a super long email thread try to get a summary... but 99.99% of the time I will never want to use this, as such the banner is annoying and consumes lots of valuable space where I could render my email.
How can I turn this off? or hide it by default?

I have figured out a very, very simple workaround to kill this UI element on Chrome
1 - Install this plugin for Chrome, "Custom CSS by Denis" https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/custom-css-by-denis/cemphncflepgmgfhcdegkbkekifodacd
2 - While you are on any outlook page (ie, outlook.office.com), click the "CSS" icon in your Extensions list to launch the CSS editor
3 - The first time you open this extension on any particular site, you will see a permissions window first - "Need permission to edit outlook.office.com" - grant those permissions
4 - Click the CSS icon again, which will now show you a text box captioned "Styles for outlook.offfice.com"
5 - Enter this text in the box and press enter
.Yd98x {display:none!important;}6 - If you are on a message detail window, you should see the Copilot Summary box disappear instantly.
7 - If you use multiple computers - you will have to authorize permissions for the extension on each machine, separately, but - after you grant permissions - if all of your machines are logged into the same Google account - the CSS you had saved on your first machine should already be loaded back up for your on the next machine.
8 - Cautions
- This may not work forever - if Microsoft changes the class name of the Copilot block in their HTML, this code will need to be updated.
- I don't have any way of guaranteeing this is the correct class name for all users but it has been working consistently for me across a few machines today. The class name may be different on other versions of Outlook (such as personal addresses on outlook.live.com, etc.)
- I didn't author this plugin, it does seem safe in my own personal judgement, but security evaluations are up to you.

But I want to point everyone's attention to my comment from last week (linked/repeated here) - If you want to very narrowly hide "Summary by Copilot" and not change anything else about your subscription, experience, etc . - follow this advice, which any end user can do. It works perfectly and my life is so much better now.
Adding my name to the list of people who find this incredibly annoying and want it gone! Microsoft, please update immediately with an option to turn this off!
Seeing that MS will not address this issue, I switched to Wino Mail.
