How to remove the unverified sender message?

Hi,

I keep getting an 'unverified sender' message in Outlook (desktop and web app). I've added the address to 'trusted sender' and I've whitelisted the domain but still keep getting it.

The sender is 'trusted' and a reputable domain.

Is there anything else I can do on my side or is it down to the sender?

Many thanks,

Charlie

If you have information to share, how about doing it in a less condescending way? The point here is that this "feature" appeared with no explanation and no control provided for the user. For many of us, this is actively interfering with our businesses and causing us both time and grief. Most people who are paying for a service expect that the service will benefit them in some way, not cause additional grief.

I worked in IT for years and folks like you are the reason so many non-tech people have a low opinion of IT professionals. Would you appreciate it if a lawyer talked down to you when you didn't understand some aspect of the law? It's our job to assist people in understanding the technology and how to make it work for them. As someone who works in the area of fraud prevention, I get why some standard is necessary. However, making the process so onerous that everyone finds a way around it kind of defeats the purpose.

Well said! Thank you for your comment. I would say many of us are not IT formally trained and are not a part of that profession. So even if the feature is a part of a new standard for cybersecurity, Microsoft could allow for a more user friendly option. Apart from that I have nothing else to decry.

"Required" is a very, very big word. Please cite the US law or statute that REQUIRES this feature. How about you get down off the false high horse you seem to be on and join reality. This feature is not required it is desired - desired by insiders who believe they are doing what is in the best interest of the masses based on their perception of the cyber threat. If you were half as knowledgeable as you seem to believe, you would know that NOTHING with this feature or anything else you or anyone else in that industry can come up with is going to prevent cyber-attacks. The best you can do is reduce the threat. I have no issue with the feature - the issue is that I, as the purchaser of the product, wish to be able to turn the feature on and off.

It sucks because it is not user configurable.

You lack the technological ability to understand what this feature is and how it is setup. This feature is required globally by all email providers as apart of a new standard to prevent cyber attacks.

This is the only way forward. Do not decry something you find annoying simply because you do not understand.

It sucks because whoever manages your Email domain screwed it up.

This in not merely annoying, this is noise, it makes reading inboxes harder cluttering them with inaccurate information for the recipient.

It is not the only way forward either, Outlook could send an email back to the sender letting them know their issue. AND give them very specific instructions to fix it. Put the responsibility and annoyance on those who have the power to fix it.

I'm more than willing to guess you get angry about other non-IT issues and that you have no control over but deal with the repercussions.

    Eleni,

You may not have the power to fix it but you should be savvy enough to recognize the wrong users are being effected by this change. Have the OP open a ticket without having to gather everything you ask then direct everyone else to upvote it to get it prioritized if they are facing the same issue.

Standard users do not have the time nor knowledge to investigate all the items you are asking them to do. This is not moderating, this is ignoring the perspective of the customer in favor of the company.
