Hi,
I keep getting an 'unverified sender' message in Outlook (desktop and web app). I've added the address to 'trusted sender' and I've whitelisted the domain but still keep getting it.
The sender is 'trusted' and a reputable domain.
Is there anything else I can do on my side or is it down to the sender?

Using New Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management

The response we received from support and PG, after much pushing was to :
disable Email and collaboration> Policies & rules> Threat policies> Anti-phishing> (On your policy disable)> Unauthenticated senders symbol (?) for spoof.
We have not verified or tested this as yet.
This apparently only affects "New Outlook", Outlook on the Web, and will soon be on Outlook for iOS, Outlook for Android, and New Outlook for Mac Users. If you're using the New Outlook, switch back to the 'regular' Outlook. New Outlook is basically OWA for desktop and you're going to lose a lot of the features offered in the classic Outlook Client. New Outlook is free. That should tell you something right there.
With classic Outlook, you won't have this problem. Yet. I'm still trying to see how to turn off the banner in the New Outlook client from the Exchange Online/Defender configurations. A teammate was told by a Microsoft tech that there was no way to turn this off. I agree, it's total ****. Personal email users may need some reminders and this banner, but in a corporate environment, with a third-party service (Proofpoint) that adds its own banner, we don't need TWO banners on our messages.
Microsoft, cut the ****.
It appears that everyone has the same issue and I am not seeing any answers or fixes.
My question is, what other service is available? I hate paying the prices I am for my company and employees emails and having no control to disable this announce.
I know that it will be a pain to move everything over, but it will be a one time pain not an ongoing frustration.
I agree. This is a RIDICULOUS feature! It is absolutely annoying and frustrating. Microsoft makes these changes because some programmer thought it was a good idea with NO input from users. At least offer an option so that we can verify the email and STOP the continued notifications.
I very much enjoy that emails that I send to a listserv, and so I get a copy of, are coming in as Unverified.
