Pervert Scam Email Pegasus

Hi there

I received an email at 05:56 today stating that I had had Pegasus spyware installed on my PC and that explicit videos of me would be shared with my contacts unless I paid a virtual currency ransom.

I did find it in my junk folder, but I still wanted to reach out as this email has caused me a great deal of anxiety. I have viewed online forums that state the email is a common scam, and that there are others similar to it in circulation, but I would still appreciate an expert opinion.

Also it was send with my email, and outlook detect it like it was me

For person that face the same problem

You can check the source code of the email and see if fsp fails, that mean that the guy spoofed the email so you are not hacked guys

It look like this

    It’s a scam email.

    Its been happening to lots of people since last year.

    I got one a few weeks back and it proper freaked me out.

    They use software to modify the sender email to make it look like it’s from your own so it appears they've “hacked in”.

    Theres nothing in your Sent Box so you're fine.

    You’ve done the right thing in changing your pw. Just delete the email and forget about it.

    Pegasus is something used by governments to keep an eye on high profile people like activists and stuff. Its never gotten in the hands of the public and is crazy expensive (we’re talking millions) to set up on a few devices alone.

    It’s just a scare tactic. Don't fall for it.

    Please can you tell me whether this is a scam just to get $1800?

    Or does this Guy have Peagasus installed on all my devices?

    Hello there, I know this is 2024 threads. But I got the same Pegasus email but this time is using the personal email.

    When I check the source code '''Received-SPF: Fail (protection.outlook.com: domain of hotmail.com does not designate {{ 31.41.252.65 }} as permitted sender)''' (each Ip-Adress might be different but that Ip-Address I found in the source code from the email it self). It's safe to deal with it or there might be a really trouble in the long run??

    Can Microsoft, with its trillions of dollars of resources, do something to deter these hackers?

    Someone has been trying to hack into my account since before I received this extortion attempt and continues to do so since changing my password.
