I have emails appearing in my outbox as queued or drafts and showing up as sent in the new outlook app on Windows 10. Any suggestions?

I have recently had a lot of my emails show up in both the sent folder and then immediately after showing up in the outbox as queued or drafts. If I close the outlook app on my laptop and re-open it, the outbox becomes empty. I have tried looking up trouble shooting steps but none of the suggestions are options in the outlook app that I have.

    Dear Nicole Feldman

Thanks for using Microsoft products and posting in the community.

    Sorry to hear that.

It seems that your email jumps from the "Sent Items" folder to the "Outbox", then you close the new version of Outlook and reopen it, and then the email jumps back to the "Sent Items" folder? If this is the case, is your mailbox non-Outlook?

If so, can you tell me which domain it is? Recently, some users have also reported this problem. We found that this situation may occur after configuring a non-Outlook mailbox to the new version of Outlook. So we are also actively collecting this kind of information.

In addition, you can also log in to your mailbox on the web, test sending a test email, and then log in to the new version of Outlook to see if the problem still exists. For the current situation when you use the new version of Outlook, our suggestion is that you can continue to use the new version of Outlook, or switch to the classic version/web version of Outlook. At the same time, you can also click "Help" in the toolbar above the new version of Outlook, and then click "Feedback" in the display box on the right to feedback this problem.

I hope the above information can help you.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Best wishes

I have this issue where a item I sent, still appear in the Outbox. You can delete it, and it comes back.

2 accounts are configured in the app.

    1. hotmail.com account
    2. yahoo.com accoun

Though the stuck outbox item is in the hotmail.com account. No issues with fantom items hanging around in the Outlook for the Yahoo.com account.

    Dear Nicole Feldman

Thanks for using Microsoft products and posting in the community.

We have found that many people are experiencing the same problem. We are now gathering information about it as well.

Now we need to make sure that the antivirus software installed on the computer is not causing the interference because the port of the new Outlook is different from the port of the classic Outlook, which is the same as the port of the web-based version of Outlook, so we may need to troubleshoot if it's the three-party antivirus software that's causing the interference (if there is one).

You can try checking the settings of the three-party antivirus program to see if there is a section about email, but of course, it's best to uninstall the antivirus program first.

Also, if other users are experiencing the same problem, I would like users to provide information about the system version, the domain where the mailbox is configured, and the domain where the problem is occurring, which will help with troubleshooting.

I hope the above information can help you.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Best wishes
