Outlook desktop calendar defaults to open at 12am instead of the work day

I use the desktop version and it opens with midnight at the top instead of 8am like is used to

  1. the Web version opens to the current time but the desktop version opens to 12am (see screen shot)

I would like it to open either to the beginning of my day (at 8am like is used to) or the current time is fine as well (like the web version does)

I can scroll down every time but its annoying. My work hours are set to 8am-4pm. I am not using New Outlook because you cannot move the folders around. This issue is only a few months old.

    As noted in the title of this thread: The calendar defaults to open at 12am instead of the workday.

    There is no problem setting the workday or location, but everyone keeps answering with how to set the workday/location. Does anyone know HOW TO GET THE CALEDNAR TO OPEN ON THE WORKDAY VS MIDNIGHT?

    You should be able to set the hours using the new Work Hours and Location (File, Options, Calendar, Work hours and location), Set your work hours and location in Outlook - Microsoft Support.

    This feature is now at Current Channel and Monthly Enterprise Channel at builds Version 2503 Build 18623.20000+. As that version advances to the other channels, it will get the feature. If you do not have the feature yet use OWA or New Outlook to set the Work Hours. After you set the hours in OWA restart classic Outlook to pick up the change.

    In case someone is still having the issue, I just fixed mine this way (note that I use Outlook in deskop version and also in the mobile app. The issue was in the desktop version only, however I fixed it thru the app... I'm running it on an iPhone with iOS 18.3.1):

    1. Open the calendar in the app.
    2. Click on your profile picture at the top to display Calendar Options.
    3. It will display a list with several calendars, the active ones are selected with a blue checkmark. My app was displaying old coworkers' calendars besides mine.
    4. Click on the gear icon next to the unwanted calendars to open each calendar's options. Once there, there is a button to delete it. Continue deleting as many calendars you're not interested in.
    5. Close the app. Close your desktop Outlook window. Open again desktop window and check if your calendar view was updated to the right time slots according to your working hours... it may take a couple minutes to show it right.

    In our organization, years ago we used to share other team members calendars' to show availability in detail (and for our boss to monitor our agendas, I guess), however I'm not part of that team since many years ago but never had an issue with my calendar view, until a couple weeks ago and it was annoying, until today that I realized how to solve it.

    This issue will get mitigated when each of the Office Channels get the new Work Hour and Location, Set your work hours and location in Outlook - Microsoft Support. Current Channel already has it. Monthly Enterprise Channel will get it on April 8, 2025. I don't know an ETA yet for Semi Annual Channel, but I will post back when I get that information.
