Outlook desktop calendar defaults to open at 12am instead of the work day

In case someone is still having the issue, I just fixed mine this way (note that I use Outlook in deskop version and also in the mobile app. The issue was in the desktop version only, however I fixed it thru the app... I'm running it on an iPhone with iOS 18.3.1):

1. Open the calendar in the app.
2. Click on your profile picture at the top to display Calendar Options.
3. It will display a list with several calendars, the active ones are selected with a blue checkmark. My app was displaying old coworkers' calendars besides mine.
4. Click on the gear icon next to the unwanted calendars to open each calendar's options. Once there, there is a button to delete it. Continue deleting as many calendars you're not interested in.
5. Close the app. Close your desktop Outlook window. Open again desktop window and check if your calendar view was updated to the right time slots according to your working hours... it may take a couple minutes to show it right.

In our organization, years ago we used to share other team members calendars' to show availability in detail (and for our boss to monitor our agendas, I guess), however I'm not part of that team since many years ago but never had an issue with my calendar view, until a couple weeks ago and it was annoying, until today that I realized how to solve it.

This worked for me! Horrible work-around for an issue that should not exist.

The bigger question is why was it changed in the client application? Who did that change benefit? What was the logic for implementing that change for all users?

Hi, I had this issue as well - the fix for me was to change the work hours from Outlook on the web, as the Outlook desktop client is currently broken, with the inability to save work hours.

Click the gear wheel, then choose Calendar, work hours and location, and change the start time to 9am (or whatever time you start). When you change this, it will give you the option to save, and then after a few minutes restart outlook desktop and it will work.

I tried your solution as it seems to have worked for several people, but unfortunately it didn't work for me.

What I did was changing "start" and "end" hours on the web version to see if they updated on my desktop version and it worked so that the greyed-out hours coincide, but it's still so that every time I open the Calendar tab on Outlook, it shows the days starting at 00:00 and I have to scroll down to see anything on my calendar.

This was the issue the others were reporting, and found your suggestion to be the solution, right? Or am I misunderstanding here?

I am having exactly the same issue and its driving me crazy.

All the calendars I'm working from in outlook are doing the same thing.

They are defaulting to the view from midnight to 6am so nothing is showing on my screen unless I scroll down.

The minute I let go of the mouse/scroller it goes back up to showing a blank calendar from midnight.

It is seriously preventing me from working...
