Outlook.com emails being rejected and returned by sbcglobal.net, att.net

I am aware of other questions being posted regarding this issue, but most seem to directed to corporate email, and not individual home users as myself.

As best as I can tell this problem started yesterday, August 6, 2024, when any email I sent to an sbcglobal.net or att.net email recipient was rejected and returned with the following message:

Undeliverable: Fw: PRAYER BREAKFAST, SAT AUG 10, 2024, 8 AM, at MIMI's CAFE

To: You Wed 8/7/2024 5:15 PM

This message is able to be sent again Send again

Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:

<recipient email address>

Your message wasn't delivered. Despite repeated attempts to deliver your message, the recipient's email system refused to accept a connection from your email system. Contact the recipient by some other means (by phone, for example) and ask them to tell their email admin that it appears that their email system is refusing connections from your email server. Give them the error details shown below. It's likely that the recipient's email admin is the only one who can fix this problem.

The remaining information contained in the bounce message applied to email administrators, which is not applicable to me as a home user.

This problem occurs on both my windows 11 laptop, and my iPhone 13, and occurs with both classic Outlook and new Outlook. It occurs rather I send to a single recipient to multiple recipients in my contacts list.

I was able to send emails to these recipients as late as last Friday, August 2, 2024.

What solutions does Microsoft have to help resolve this issue?

The way to get around their “not an Att customer” is arm yourself with your friend/colleagues name, zip and email address. I keep saying Representative when asked for my account # or phone #. When I get to a real person sometimes they require account info. That’s when I give them name, email and zip. Once I get past that I tell them what’s going on. Yes, the issue has been going on with outlook.com since August 6. In my google searching it looks like this has happened before. Not sure why they don’t play nice with each other.

It may be that AT&T says customers started reporting problems on Monday of this week but for me as an Outlook/Hotmail customer, I have been having issues with email delivery to AT&T and affiliated .NET email addresses since August 6th. And the problem continues. I hear a lot of finger pointing from AT&T at Outlook when I call AT&T who by the way won't really talk to me because I am not an AT&T customer although Janice House has been able to get their attention, and Outlook pointing at AT&T if you read their bounced email explanation. It sounds like AT&T and Outlook need to figure it out by getting 2 adults in the room and quit messing with their own customers who have expressed frustration to me that they can't receive my emails. I avoid Gmail because of their info sharing via google, etc. Perhaps time to switch to ymail, proton, etc.?

AT&T and Microsoft seem to have become to big for their britches.

    Here's what I found.

AT&T's email servers are blocking connections from Microsoft 365 due to a "high volume" spam wave originating from Microsoft's service.

Starting on Monday, AT&T customers began reporting they could no longer receive email from Microsoft 365 email addresses.

When Microsoft 365 customers attempted to email an address at @att.com, @sbcglobal.net, or @bellsouth.com, AT&T servers would refuse the connection and not accept the email for delivery.

    Nice customer service, AT&T.

UPDATE: Ok, talked to supervisor Noah at ATT customer support. He acknowledged that ATT has been having email issues for a couple of months. This issue is on their plate. He said give it 7 days. When I call the 800-288-2020 ask for Uvers Tech Support.
