Using New Outlook on Windows for professional communication and productivity
As of last week I’m having the same problem described in this thread. Rejections to both sbcglobal and att.net. Curious what the current solution is????

I am aware of other questions being posted regarding this issue, but most seem to directed to corporate email, and not individual home users as myself.
As best as I can tell this problem started yesterday, August 6, 2024, when any email I sent to an sbcglobal.net or att.net email recipient was rejected and returned with the following message:
Undeliverable: Fw: PRAYER BREAKFAST, SAT AUG 10, 2024, 8 AM, at MIMI's CAFE
To: You Wed 8/7/2024 5:15 PM
This message is able to be sent again Send again
Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:
<recipient email address>
Your message wasn't delivered. Despite repeated attempts to deliver your message, the recipient's email system refused to accept a connection from your email system. Contact the recipient by some other means (by phone, for example) and ask them to tell their email admin that it appears that their email system is refusing connections from your email server. Give them the error details shown below. It's likely that the recipient's email admin is the only one who can fix this problem.
The remaining information contained in the bounce message applied to email administrators, which is not applicable to me as a home user.
This problem occurs on both my windows 11 laptop, and my iPhone 13, and occurs with both classic Outlook and new Outlook. It occurs rather I send to a single recipient to multiple recipients in my contacts list.
I was able to send emails to these recipients as late as last Friday, August 2, 2024.
What solutions does Microsoft have to help resolve this issue?

Just tried to talk to AT&T. The support person acted as if he'd never heard of such a thing happening, and eventually just gave me a website where I could report the problem and get it resolved: att.com/postmaster. When I accessed the website, found it was just a list of general "fixes" to issues, none of which addressed this specific problem, and gave no way to contact them. Frustrating!
I spent a total of 6 hours with MS over 3 different "chats" and was told the problem was my "reputation number was lower" I've never heard of such a thing but they gave me a link and procedure for "raising the reputation number". That link/procedure involved using my phone number to request a verification code and then entering that code. They told me to do this about 3 times, then wait at least 12 hours and do it again over 2-3 days.....during which I was not to send any emails. I followed their instructions until the link no longer worked and nothing was fixed....still have Outlook emails rejected by sbcglobal. Never seen such terrible support as MS provides. So I'm going to go through the painful work to convert to gmail, MS is not going to help and I'm tired of wasting time with them.
I agree with DSanduril, but after working 25+ years in technology (with MS and ATT) my opinion is that MS will not get involved with this issue because they feel it is not their problem and they have enough of their own problems to deal with. I also believe that ATT is motivated to NOT help either because they would like to get rid of the SBCGlobal.net domain. It is my understanding that when ATT bought SBCGlobal.net, they promised to support the SBC customers forever, but they started preventing new SBCGlobal accounts from being created. As time goes by, technology changes and it has been costing them money to maintain the older SBC technology. They would prefer it if all their SBC customers migrated over to ATT's current stuff. My opinion is that they may be doing this stuff on purpose to motivate us to migrate off of SBCGlobal.net. If they are it's not personal. It's business.
I have outlook, sbcglobal and gmail accounts that I use for specific reasons including to receive automated alerts from my security systems and handing out unique email addresses to students in the classes I taught. I found out the hard way that GMail limits the number of email accounts you can authenticate on a single phone number. I don't know what the maximum number is, but I've reached that limit and there is apparently no way to reset it unless I change my phone number. So I'm stuck with Outlook and SBC unless this changes.
Also, I wonder if it is a coincidence that this started happening when basic authentication for logging in stopped being good enough. When users started using 2FA, 0Auth, and Application passwords, all these other problems started happening soon afterwards...
Just chiming in, this started happening to me day before yesterday. I have two family members at sbcglobal.net, I have been emailing them for more than a decade from my msn.com email that I've had for close to three decades. And then two days ago my emails started getting blocked with the same error codes at the AT&T/SBC end. I see no solution in this thread.
I was able to email both of them from alternate, non-MS accounts just fine. I know this is really an AT&T issue, but surely two giant corporations could work together? It is especially frustrating because it takes the MS system 24 hours or more to age out the emails and let me know that they were not delivered.
