I just came on to the Microsoft hosting for my work emails. I have my emails from the previous hosting as a pst file. The new outlook is not showing me an option to import these into my account

I can use classic but the issue now is it requests a password to open the pst file.
I never had a password when I saved the file. So it’s impossible to open.
Ruins 5 years of saved emails!!! What a disaster
Why does microsoft have a password on opening a saved file when there was no password protection when saving.
I am on version 1.2025.122.200 and the option is there to open pst files. go to Settings/General, select Outlook Data Files then +Add File. There may be a support message but if you continue past it you should be able to select your pst file and it will show up under Personal Folders in your mailbox list. From there you can view your messages but the ability to move them to another mailbox, may be limited.

Has this functionality been added to (new) Outlook yet? Seems ridiculous files can't be imported as they can be in (classic) Outlook. If not, please fix/add ASAP.
There is no FIle tab in Outlook New, it is only found in Classic Outlook. Currently you cannot import a .PST file with Outlook New. Support for this is coming, but currently only partially available:

You can use Classic Outlook for this, either by drag and drop from the .PST into email account folders, or by import using File > Open and Export > Import/Export > Import from a program or file > Outlook Data file (.PST).
