Why is Outlook sending meeting updates to all attendees instead of only those added or deleted?

I agree. I have submitted this issue previously and it is a terrible bug ! I am trying to manage meetings for a coalition and we are needing to add and delete new team members on an ongoing basis. Having everyone notified every time I make a change is so embarrassing and very confusing for everyone on those teams. I don't understand why this issue has been outstanding for so long!!

I am using Outlook client 1.2024.605.100 with M365. I understand that Microsoft has taken away the user option to send updates to all meeting participants or only those added to or deleted from the list instead of letting the organizer make the decision. The problem is that meeting updates ALWAYS go to ALL participants even though I may have added or deleted just one or two people. Server-side logic is only helpful if it actually works, and I see no evidence that this is the case.

Situation: I add or delete one or two people to a meeting MAKING NO OTHER CHANGES to the invitation. Everyone already on the list receives the invitation again.

Sending a meeting update to 40 people who have already responded just because I have added or deleted one person is NOT helpful. I can find no way to control this unwanted behavior. Please explain how to resolve this issue or how Microsoft plans to resolve it. I have submitted feedback previously, but with no apparent result.

Yep. still happening...just got 23! updates from a meeting that is a series...this is super embarrassing and super annoying for everyone involved and not ok functionality at all. This should be fixed immediately - how have they taken the gold standard of calendaring and messed it up? all you have to do is leave it alone, it was working correctly for literally 25 years.

Extremely frustrating that MS has STILL NOT RESOLVED this issue!! You would think something that effects so many would be taken care of. I guess they are too busy trying to work on world depopulation. I really hope someone else comes along and puts this terrible company out of business.

This so-called "improvement" is a massive step in the absolutely wrong direction as it is so needlessly stressful and disruptive - the antithesis of productivity. I do have some good news though, as I've just had brilliant success updating attendees in an annual meetings series without disturbing the other 90% of attendees at all. Update: Last week I used the Outlook for Android app which worked well, as the web-based Outlook was also no better than my desktop app. This week I tried again with attendee updates in the webmail version and the option suddenly appeared! It pays to keep checking.
At this time, the web based application is still too inadequate for experienced meeting organisers and desktop users. Some of us have no choice but to be set deep in the calendar granular levels every day. While mostly fine for basic general users, little thought appears to be given through the web "push" to maintaining large workplace organisers' needs for the traditional meetings controls, such as ability to change attendee responses. "Push" is certainly what it feels like and its premature for me.

I have the same problem - I do not want it to go to all people. just those I have added.

Its very inconvenient and unnecessarily adds to already full inboxes!!!!!! Especially if it is a large meeting.

I understand if you were changing the body detail or adding a document. However, I cannot see why the tracking tab is not sufficient if attendees' need to see who is in the meeting ?

The programmers either didn't ask for a consensus from users, or have a real idea about how this affects different job tasks
