Hi!
For a few weeks, I've been getting "enter password for hotmail" notification on my Mac. When I enter it, it says "Unable to verify account name or password". I've tried with POP, IMAP, Exchange... still have the same problem. I have another account on Mac Mail (not Outlook account) and works perfectly so I presume it's not coming from Mac but rather from Outlook.
Can someone help me please?

I did not remove the existing account as I was scared I would loose all my emails.
A big ask, I know, but are you confident it will work?
Be carefull. If your account is pop, data will be stored locally, if deleted will lead to data loss.
If I do the Exchange option, do I have to completely delete the account from Mac Mail?
OK ... I removed the account and have tried to add the exchange settings. Not working. Now I have no hotmail emails on my iMac Mac Mail running OS 10.13 High Sierra.

Thanks. It's IMAP. But now I've lost all my hotmail mail. I removed the account and then tried re-adding it using the Exchange option. Humph!! Mac OS 10.13 and Mac Mail 11.5. Humph!!
Your mails are still stored in Hotmail, right? If so, just add again the IMAP settings in Mac Mail. All your mails stored in Hotmail will reappear in Mac Mail (it may take a little time before they are fully there). I did it multiple times.
