Hi!
For a few weeks, I've been getting "enter password for hotmail" notification on my Mac. When I enter it, it says "Unable to verify account name or password". I've tried with POP, IMAP, Exchange... still have the same problem. I have another account on Mac Mail (not Outlook account) and works perfectly so I presume it's not coming from Mac but rather from Outlook.
Can someone help me please?

The answer for me has just been forwarding hotmail to my mac mail.

When you set up your mail again using Exchange, what did you put for the fields "Internal URL" and "External URL?"
Just checking you read .... go into Outlook settings and forward your hotmail to any other email that you pick up in Mac Mail.
This was my solution. It works.
I solved this by selecting Mail,
going into Accounts,
Deleting my old account,
Adding a new one selecting "Microsoft Exchange",
"Signing in using microsoft"
Using macOS Sonoma 14.7 and Hotmail is still an issue, although I did manage to get back my mails using exchange instead, but it's not what I was after.
